Is it Really November 8th?

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing well... I am good.. I came home and made dinner and sat down to watch my fav shows... for anyone not familiar with my blog... it's "Ugly B*etty" and "Grey's Anat*omy" ... Hubby will be home from work soon. I thought I'd come on and visit a bit since it seems like I haven't been able to come on much lately...

Thanks for all the congrats on the new car... I'll try to put a pic on the blog soon... I am so grateful to my Hubby ... I have had 2 older cars that were in bad shape and getting in worse shape but I appreciated them while I had them... But this is such a blessing for me.. and I thank the Lord for this new car... it was a prayer answered... And I AM SO EXCITED!!! :0)

Can you believe it's November 8th? I am ready to go Christmas shopping! I love this time of year because no matter what has happened during the year, I can look back over the years and recall the most precious memories.... not necessarily gifts I got but more like gifts that you always have.... pictures in your mind, times when everyone was happy and all was right with your world... because you were with everyone you loved.... I know that this is a time of year that's really hard on some people but somehow it is just so wonderful to me.... I miss our Mom and Dad so much and Christmas will never be the same but because of them, I knew what Christmas was really about.... love and family.... And this will be our second Christmas without Mom...our third without Dad... and our first without my Hubby's Mom.. But we will be fine... We are already looking forward to decorating and having our party. We love having everyone over and just being with everyone... the food and gifts are fun... but family and friends are the best.... We usually put our tree up Thanksgiving night or the next day... and we put up a small tree on the buffet in the kitchen .. in memory of my Mom... she loved birds and the tree is covered in birds.... it is so pretty .... My hubby started doing the tree 2 years ago.... And it is something we will do every year.... I think Mom would have liked it......

I have to work on Hubby this week... I want him to make a list of what he wants for Christmas.. we used to do it every year.... and I like it because I know that I can get him things he likes.... I enjoy going shopping .... I told someone that I like to go hunting..... but I hunt clothes, purses, shoes and jewelry.... he he he... My friend Jen will be home in December for Christmas.. from college and we will be going out to our fav Italian restaurant for dinner so we can catch up on everything.....

We have a party for work so that's always fun... we draw names and keep it a secret 'til the night of the party.... we all bring the food.. and play games... and we have a party for our class at church... we play Dirty Santa and eat, of course..... :0) we always have fun.... And if everything works out time-wise, we go caroling with a bunch of ladies at church... we have a blast!! It is so much fun!! One year we went caroling and it was SO cold... one of the ladies made us homemade hot chocolate with marshmallow cream.... oh my gosh, it was the best!!

We have a women's group at church and every Thanksgiving and Christmas, we give away 2 food baskets to families that we think really needs it... that is the best thing.... and we also try to get names of kids who may not have a gift for Christmas and we buy gifts for them... That is what Christmas is about to us.....

Well, I have babbled long enough. I have to feed Edith and and get ready for bed. I hope you all have a good day tomorrow.... I will be back soon... I am going to try to leave work a little early tomorrow because I may be going to our local convocation center to a huge sale called "A Little Bit of Christmas." They have it every year and I go with my friend Beck.... and they have tons of stuff..... Hopefully.. I'll be able to find Christmas goodies.... Hugs to all... Be back soon..

Good Morning Cecil,
It was good to hear from you. I am glad you are enjoying that new car. You will have to take a picture of it with you standing beside it and post it on here and let us all see it. I used to go to the Lil' Bit of Christmas with my mom. She was into woodwork and crafting several years back. She would go and get ideas. But since my dad isn't in the best of health these days, they don't do any more of that. They have made several wood pieces for my. I have a cabinet that has doors and hearts cut out on them, a bench, all kinds of shelves, and other small things they made me. It has gotten to be so expensive to buy that stuff anyway. I think most of the people would just go and look. I haven't even started my Christmas shopping. I am always one of those that wait till the last minute because I never have any money before then. I just have to squeeze money out in December for Christmas. Well take care my friend and have a good Friday and Weekend. God Bless you.

Hugs,
Karen H.
