More Snow...

Hi everyone. It's like deja vu here this week. Once again, I am home. Because of snow. It's ok though because I am very tired and home is ok today. Wish I had a few more days off though. Not been sleeping well sometimes so the rest is welcome. Hope you are all well and warm if you are snowed in this week. I spent the morning cleaning a little but won't be doing anything else.... just don't have the energy. Will rest and will be going back to work tomorrow. Hope all is well with all of you. As Time Passes By......

Hello everyone.... We started getting freezing rain last Thursday night and then sleet a few hours later.... it woke me up at 2 am and was hitting the window so hard that I thought it was hail... I finally got awake enough to realize what it was... took me a bit to go back to sleep and it woke me up again at 4 am. I and 2 other employees worked until noon and by 9 am it had started snowing, too. I came home and put on warm pj's and piled up to watch my fave shows on Food Network... and then haven't left the house yet! I cooked everyday and just rested. I haven't felt good the past few days and stayed home. Tomorrow, I go back to work. It has been a nice little vacation. We are expecting a little wintry mix Thursday but they think it will be minor. Then we are expecting some wintry mix on Monday and the weather gurus are "watching it." We will see....

Hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully, we will wade through through the rest of winter with no major weather upsets.. like Diane mentioned! I am praying for an uneventful year.... too much going on lately. With the weather and other things...

Don't Pass Out!

Wanted to say "hello" to everyone. Although I'm sure everyone has given up on me! Don't blame anyone for that. There has been so much going on the past few months.. I love my computer but I have a life to live and can't always come on and do my blog. Like everyone else, life has been hectic, sad, discouraging and downright miserable at times lately... but I won't go into the gory details. I can only say I'll try harder. Hope everyone is ok and survived the holidays.

Hello everyone! I'm sure if you read my title, you know I've been very busy. I won't make any excuses other than to say as Diane does, "life happens." I've just had so much going that I haven't had time to come on and blog. Work has been extremely busy and just as I was about to go bonkers, I got a break. Jessica and I went on a mini-vacation. It was just the 2 of us and we went to Hot Springs... and lucky us! my hubby called and booked a hotel room for us and he got us a spa package... it was fabulous!!! Facials, pedicures, mineral baths and massages... ah! to be there now! Absolutely wonderful! We had a blast!

So, that is what has been going on with me. How about all of you? I hope you are all well and enjoying summer. It will be over far too quickly.... do something fun!

Our weather has been crazy! Cooler temps that are making history for July.. Rain, rain and more rain! I just hope our winter is not this crazy. I don't think I can take another ice storm like we had earlier this year!

The Heat is On!

Hello all.... Hope you are all doing well. I worked this am and then Jessica met me after work and we went to get Munchkin a swing set. She was so excited when I told her that her uncle Brian and I were going to get her a swing set! She loves to swing and get on the slide. It is so hot right now but we are expecting cooler temps next week so I wanted to get it so Jessica and Jason could get it set up for her now. I loved having a swing set growing up.

Hope you have all had a good week. I did. Just busy at work but it does make the time go faster!

Brian (hubby) and I spent Sunday going to lunch and then shopping. We had a great day and even went to dinner later. I went to church Sunday night. And Sunday was Father's Day. I miss my Dad a lot... I can't help but think how much he and Mom would have loved Munchkin and Seth! So, until I see you again, Daddy.... I love you and I miss you and will see you soon.

I am having a hard time staying awake this afternoon! I really don't need to go to sleep at 5 pm! I may not sleep well tonite if I do! So, I have to stay awake.......

I am so ready to go on vacation! Every time I see a pic of a beach, I drool! I haven't been to Florida in several years and I'd like to go NOW.. lol... right now though, we have several at work taking time off so I can't for now... sigh... oh well.....

Hello Again.. My Friend...

Hello everyone. Needless to say, once again I have been AWOL.. for which I do apologize. We had VBS last week.. (you can see pics on Diane's blog)... and between work and then going to VBS, I have been exhausted to be honest with you. I went to Diane and Lamar's yesterday.. and Jessica and Munch and Jason's brother came down .. and Diane grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. It was really good. Jess let Munch play in her pool for a bit and then she had to go to work. I fell alseep on the couch and probably slept for an hour and a half... I was worn out. Today, I went and got us sandwiches for lunch and managed to stay awake all day.. lol... Diane worked on my blog a bit... thank you very much, m'aam!! And I wanted to come on and leave a few words and say hi to all. Hopefully, everything is settled for a bit... except the weather... it is suffocatingly hot right now.... and will probably be that way until November! no joke... But I guess we'll make it through..... I pray that all of our air conditioners hold up!!

It is lightning so I can't really stay on here but wanted to say "hello" to everyone! I was off work Saturday... whoo hooooo!! And some of the family went to eat and to the mall and the movies... we had a really good time. Sunday we had Boston butt for lunch after church at Diane and Lamar's. So we had a busy weekend.... Happy Mother's Day......

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well. I have had a very busy week so I haven't had much time to come on and visit. I worked all week and then had a party to go to on Saturday.. I'm sure you heard about it on Diane's blog and on Jessica's blog, too... I'm referring, of course, to Princess Emmy's 2nd birthday party! I can't believe she is 2 already... time ... it does go by so fast. We had a good time and I'm pretty sure Munch (aka Emmy) was also very happy about her day. You can view pics on Diane and Jess's blogs.

Yesterday was Mother's Day. I have to be honest and tell you that it was very hard on me this year.. as it is on others who have lost their moms already. My Hubby's Mom has been gone for 2 years now... she died almost 2 years to the day that my Mom died. It is difficult for him and me both because we loved them both... I know a lot of people don't feel that way about their mother-in-laws.. but we did.

What I miss the most:
1) Being able to talk to my Mom.. I still try to call her every now and then... until I realize my cell service doesn't reach that far.... ;-)
2) Not knowing certain things about our family that she could answer
3) Taking her out..... anywhere
4) Seeing her sit across the auditorium at church
5) Seeing her laugh.. and making me laugh
6) Everything..... I miss everything....

I wish, most of all, that she (and Dad) could have known Munchkin.... they would have loved her and Seth (our nephew and his wife's little boy) so much.

We had our Sunday night singing at church last night and it was so very good! I did ok for a bit... but finally cried... I'd been sad all day and held out as long as I could! But it was ok.... I miss Mom so much and Jess sang and it was so good! And I wish Mom could see her now, too. She'd be proud...... This was a friend of mine's 1st Mother's Day without her Mom . We cried together.... Sadness shared and wonderful memories of 2 unforgettable women who made us what we are... See you soon, Mama!

I hope you all got a chance to tell your mom that you love her.... And that it was a memorable day for you....

Hey everyone! Hopefully I am back for good!! I won't have time to comment on everyone's blog for a bit but do want to thank everyone who has commented and left me such nice messages! Thank you for hanging in there with me! Hugs to you all... I've missed everyone!

I am doing better now.... Finally had to break down and go to the doctor last Wedneday. I couldn't hear out of my left ear and the other one was bothering me......I have fluid in both ears and a massive sinus infection... still having some coughing and have some congestion in my chest. So, my doctor put me on steriods and antibiotics. I came home after work to rest.. still stay tired and just wanted to pile on the couch and watch tv and snuggle with my munchkins. And that's what I did. It was a gorgeous day today but I just wanted to rest! Sad, huh? Not really. I did need to rest.

So what's been going on with everyone? Hope you have all been ok. I have been looking forward to the weather warming up. I want to get better so I can start walking. We have a very nice track. Hopefully, I'll be able to start soon.

Hey everyone... wanted to give you all an update. I had to have a new modem and I also need a new router. I will get that soon but not today. My 'puter is hooked up direct.. thanks to my cable guy. I can't stay on but just long enough to give you this update. Would stay on longer but I am sick and don't really feel like sitting up right now. Long story short, I have asthma and I had an attack in my sleep Friday night and didn't wake up. I have a very congested chest and just feel bad. Hello everyone! I just came on to say a quick hello! My computer is still down and I am at Diane's and wanted to type a quick message. Due to time and not being rude to Diane and taking over her 'puter, I won't take the time to leave everyone an individual message. I do miss being able to be on and talk to everyone and do my blog. I've had something the past 2 weeks on both my days off so I haven't been home so the repairman can come to the house. Hello everyone. Sorry but I won't be able to be online for a bit. I'm posting this from my sister Diane's Place right now and her internet and electricity is off and on right now due to the severe ice storm we've had.

One of my friend's mother died and I've spent a lot of time with her and her family and now the ice storm has knocked off my power and internet. I don't know when I'll have power again but I'll post again as soon as I can.

More Cold is On the WAy....

Hey everyone. Hope you are all doing well. We are expecting some even colder weather to hit tonight. We have actually been warned since last week that we could have some more ice. But now they are thinking that it may just be a few flurries. I don't mind the flurries but I don't want anymore ice! If it got icy tomorrow, it would be the 3rd week in a row that it was icy on Tuesday. So, I hope we are in the clear.

I hope everyone has been doing well in this new year. I haven't been on in a bit. I have been busy and had a lot going on. I have, as I'm sure you noticed, a new look! Thanks for my new design, Diane! I really like it. As you all know, Diane is my blog interior decorator! Which I am grateful for!

I am going to go to bed shortly but I wanted to come on and say hello and check in with everyone. I am having trouble keeping my eyes open! I have a sinus headache and will be headed to bed shortly. I think this weather is blowing some allergens in or something. Diane has been sneezing all day and my eyes were itching and now I have a headache. Our weather is truly unbelievable sometimes!

I spent the say with my Hubby yesterday. We had lunch together at Dixie Cafe and then went shopping. We had a wonderful time. Then today, Me, Sue, Jessica, Jason, Munchkin and Diane all went to Chili's for lunch. We had a good time and then went back to Jessica and Jason's for a while. (Lamar went to the mall to walk and we picked him up when we came home.) Emmy (aka Munchkin) is so funny whent we go out. She talks to everyone and we have went to Chili's so much that the girls who work there will sometimes take her around the restaurant with them! It's so funny! She is truly a little Princess!!

Well, I am going to go for now. My head is getting worse and I'm going to go take some ibuprofen and get ready for bed. Please forgive me for not commenting on blogs tonight. I will try later. Hugs to all, Cecil

Ice, Ice Baby!

Hello everyone! Welcome to January 2009! We had temps in the high 60's on Saturday and this morning, we started getting freezing rain. It's still raining now. And could continue into tomorrow. How crazy is that?! But we usually get some ice or snow in January and or February. We are used to it. If you like wacky weather, we are the right state to be in!

I hope everyone has had a good holiday season. I can't believe it's already January! And that it's 2009! We had a wonderful holiday and hope you all did, too.

Today, Sue and I went to Diane and Lamar's for lunch. We stopped and got some chicken from the Colonel and Diane made ham and bean soup and cornbread. We had a good lunch and then played games for a while. We had to leave early because the ice started getting worse and I wanted to be home before dark.. just in case it got a little too slick. They are actually upgrading our weather warning to an ice storm warning unstead of a winter weather advisory. I just hope the electricity doesn't go off. It will be cold but also, Edith's tank will get too cold and that scares me for her. So, I pray that the electricity doesn't go off.

I have the heat on 75 degrees to warm it up in here. The furkids are all piled up keeping warm. Hopefully, this will get out of here tomorrow and I can go get groceries and do whatever I want to do.

A Rainy Tuesday.....

Hello everyone. It started raining at 11:00 pm last night and I think that it only stopped for a bit around 3 this afternoon. And it was very heavy at times. I spent a bit of time this morning cleaning house, changing my bed and just doing the things the house usually needs. I decided to stay home and just finish up some things and wait on Hubby to come in this evening. We are supposed to go out to dinner.

I stopped cleaning about 11:00 and made a Black Forest ham sandwich with cheese, and had some cottage cheese and a Coke. Then, as I expected, I thought of a few more Christmas cards I needed to do. I got those done and then was ready to sit down for a bit. I got on the couch and had the Food Network on and snuggled under a Christmas throw and dozed off and then a 20 pound cat landed in the middle of me! Our Zaboomafoo is a bit large and likes to snuggle! I dozed for a little bit and then got up. I got a Chunky candy bar and ate a little of it for a snack and got myself awake.

I then decided that I needed to get the rest of the gifts wrapped. So, I wrapped and wrapped and wrapped! But they are all done! I'll have some more to wrap soon because I still want to get my Hubby more things and I'm sure I'll be picking up more Munchkin goodies! I am glad I've finished everything though for now.

As I've mentioned, I have to go back to work tomorrow so I may not be on for a few days. I have my first party on Friday night so after work, It's our church class party. I'll be headed to that. We always have a good time at it. I'll have to go get some goodies for it. We just take finger foods, potluck, whatever. So, it's pretty easy to take care of it. We will also have our Christmas program Sunday pm and then have sandwiches, chips and dips, and other goodies. Then, on Monday night, we'll be having our WMU (ladies) meeting at church and we'll each take gifts for our secret sisters and reveal who they are and find out who ours is also. We also take potluck for that and always have good food! It is fun to get together with everyone!

So, this weekend will be busy. I don't know what I'll be doing this weekend. Hubby and I will work that out later. But I will come on soon and check in with everyone. All Done!

Hey everyone. Not much going on. Just thought I'd do a short post. My vacation is over so I'll be busy the rest of the week. I had to go grocery shopping this am. Sue and I went and we got chicken ( strips, buffalo wings, and she got fried chicken) and tater wedges, and brussel sprouts and rolls. It was pretty good! Then we played games the rest of the afternoon. I came home tonight and finished my Christmas cards. I did them for our church, family, and some friends I had to mail them out to, and did one for all the residents of our local nursing home. And that is what my title means..... all done! I'm sure I'll decide to do a few for others I think of, but that should be it.

We are about to get a lot of rain.. our weather guy said we may get as much as 2 inches. We need it though. It is supposed to be warm enough that that is all we'll get.. rain.

Turtleneck Time!!!

Hey everyone! I'm sure you can guess by my title that it is getting pretty cold now. The high temp yesterday was 39 but the wind chill made it seem a lot colder. I wore a turtleneck with a sweater over it and didn't get a bit too warm. Sue and I went to get burgers and took them to Diane and Lamar's and spent the afternoon. We had our lunch and then played games. I came home and got out a Boston Market meal (salisbury steak with mac and cheese) and some corn and that was dinner. I watched tv for a while and then worked on some of my Christmas cards. I have a few that I mail out every year so I got them ready. Then I read for a bit. I love the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books and when we went to the mall on Monday, I got the one for Christmas. So far, I have really enjoyed it.

Today, I went to lunch with Diane, Jessica, Jason and Munchkin. We went to Chili's. I like most of their food... the thing I get most often is country fried steak with smashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. Munch and I had cheesecake for dessert... she likes her some cheesecake! Everytime I went to get a bite, she'd be saying "bite bite.... bite bite!!!" She is so precious!!!! Then, I went to Books-a-Million and got a few gifts... I got Munch some stocking-stuffers... books.. she likes books. All of us do.....

I came home and worked on the house a bit and then lit all my candles... it is so nice to sit in your house and it is so cozy to have candles lit and then turn the lights on the tree when it gets dark.... I may have to have some hot chocolate or hot spiced cider or apple cinnamon tea later!

I still have some Christmas cards to do so I'll probably work on them later... I also have a lot of wrapping to do... got to get started on that again.... I have several stocking-stuffers that need to be wrapped, too. I will do a stocking for Hubby, Munchkin and then Jessica and Jason. I think Hubby and I started doing stockings a few years after we got married. I like trying to find little goodies that I think everyone will like. It's a lot of fun.

I'd like to share a bit of good news for Jessica and Jason.. if you read her blog, you know that they are having computer trouble, so, I don't think she'd mind me telling y'all that Jason has a job... at UPS... it may be temporary but at least he is working for now, Praise the Lord!! He went for his orientation today. Please keep praying for them... they still need your prayers. It seems like one thing after another for them. But I told them to keep praying and God will provide. So, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Baby, It Was Cold Outside Today!

Hey all.. Hope you are all doing well. I am doing fine. My Hubby and I went Christmas shopping this weekend and went to lunch. We met Jessica and Jason and the Munchkin on Saturday night and we had a good time with them at a local restaurant and then came home. And put up our tree. If I do say so, it looks so pretty! It has really put me in the Christmas spirit. It hit me about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and then kind of waned a bit. But today was so cold and it made me think... Christmas..... I went and got my hair snipped and highlighted and then Sue and I went to the mall. I got Hubby a few gifts. I got a new book at Barnes & Noble. It's a Christmas version of Chicken Soup for the Soul.... I can't wait to read it! Sue and I sat there for a bit and got some hot coffee... Then we stopped by Diane and Lamar's for a bit. Jessica was there. We left there and came home. I got my pj's on and sat down and started on Christmas cards. I do them for our church family and also do one for each person in the local nursing home. We started doing that several years ago and I do it each year. I hope that it brightens their day. I am about to wear down for the day. I thought I'd come on and say hello and check in with everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did,

A Happy Thanksgiving to You All.....

I wanted to come on and wish everyone a good day tomorrow. We will be gathering at Jason and Jessica's house. I am looking forward to it.... the food and the company. I am a little bit un-American in the fact that I am not a big turkey fan... but I will deal with it and eat a bite or two! I'd rather have chicken or pork chops but I don't usually cook anyway so I will deal with it! I hope you all have a big family day planned and have a wonderful holiday. We are very blessed because our boss let us leave at 1 pm and we will be off until Saturday. I am looking forward to being off, too! Not because I shop on Friday... I made that mistake one time and will not make it again!! A lot of my friends do, but not me... too many people for me!

I thought I'd leave you with a short message for Thanksgiving from me.. and share a bit of info with you!

1) What does Thanksgiving mean to you?
First and foremost, God and family. There is always time to complain but we need (at least!) one day for Thanksgiving!! To all my family and friends, I love you all and wish you the best of the holiday season and the coming year!

2) Have you every been away from home for Thanksgiving?
I have spent Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad every year until they died and then with other family members.. but never at my house.... too small and I don't cook turkey... see above! Would do it if necessary though..

3) What is your idea of Thanksgiving dinner if you got stranded in a cabin in the woods.. and had to use what you had on hand?
I would have fried pork chops, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, asparagus, and hot rolls... with butter.... I like butter,,,, not as much as Paula Deen but I like butter!!

4) Someone you are thankful for....
God, my Hubby and my family..... don't want to ever be without them close by! Especially at the holiday season. And I'm so grateful for all my friends... YOU are included!!

5) Do you have a fave memory of Thanksgiving?
Honestly, no. All of my early memories are wonderful... family, food and fun. What more could you want? Mama taught us to love each other and we knew she and Daddy loved us. We were the best bunch of fun around!! I wouldn't trade any of that for anything!

Hello everyone. I'm sure you noticed the title and figured out that it's cold..... very cold. It was 28 degrees when I got in from work. And it is now 27 degrees if the cable channel is correct. I figure it is colder. It is going to be cold all weekend. It has also been an extremely long and stressful day at work. I was glad to get home and sit down. I fed the furkids and then made a ham and cheese sandwich and got a Dr. Pepper. And sat down and vegged out in front of the tv! Then later I made some popcorn... That is all of my evening. I just needed to sit down and do absolutely nothing.

I don't have any pressing plans for tomorrow. I will decide what I want to do after work. I've been working in the house.. trying to prepare my spare room for Christmas... I really don't need to have a spare room.... too much junk!! But I am making progress.

Well, I hate to say it but I am going to go for now. I am truly worn out. I hope you are all well and that you have a good weekend. Hugs to all.... Cecil

Baby, It's Cold Outside.. and Raining, Too....

Hello everyone. Thought I'd come on for a bit and just say "hi." I will be busy tomorrow... have to work and then need to do a little work around the house. My spare room is in need of a ... well, a new look... a new, improved, cleaned up look. In other words, it's trashed! I want to get it in line for the holidays so when I get home tomorrow night, I'm going to try to get started on that. And I'm slowly going thru my closet and getting rid of some things... Martha will get most of it and one of my friends at church can wear some of it.. and Jessica has already come shopping at Chez Cecil's. ;-) None of it is fun but it is all necessary.

Today, my meeting at work was cancelled so Sue and I went to the mall and did a little more Christmas shopping. I got stocking stuffers for Munchkin. I came home tonight and got everything I've bought so far into boxes and got names written on the bottoms and will wrap them later. I was so glad to get that done, at least. I went to Wally World today and got wrapping paper and tape and name labels. We used up almost everything we had last year. I also got some hot cocoa mix.. and got a bag of mini marshmallows to go with it... and some cinnamon apple herb tea that Diane introduced me to last year.. and then I got some hot spiced cider mix... I know it won't be as good as Diane's but I will have to put on my big girl underpants and deal with it!!! I may have to cheat early and invest in the ingredients for Diane to make some.. she left me a comment and said I'd thrown a craving on her!! Sorry, sis! I likes me some cider.... So, now I am prepared to come home on a cold night, fix some of my drink of choice and get ready to have a wrapping party... Oh, I also got some mini bags of movie theater popcorn and some kettle corn. I am prepared when the time comes!

Girls Weekend Out...

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well and have had a good weekend. I have really had a good weekend. After work yesterday, my friend, Beck, and I went to a local Christmas craft show that comes every year. The past few years, I haven't bought much but I got a few gifts this year. We didn't get to see everything... which was ok... because it closed before we got thru it all. (They had it again today but we had already made plans to go to Memphis to go Christmas shopping, too. ) It was so cold yesterday.. we wore sweats and both of us were still cold when the wind hit us! We went by on the way home and got some hot spiced cider.. it was good but not near as good as Diane's. Then we headed home...

Today, we went to Memphis and got burgers at TGI Fridays and then went to a few stores and looked around.. I got Hubby a few gifts last night and today... (I actually started my shopping last week... as I noted in a previous post.... ) I love just going and seeing all the decorations for the trees.... we do our tree different every year... the Pier 1 there was awsome! I loved it.. they have so much there that ours doesn't have.. but ours is a smaller store.... Hubby and I have already gotten Munchkin several things.. I'm sure there will be more.. ;-) This year, she can really tear into some packages! She is going to have a blast.

We are supposed to have some cooler temps this week and some rain. We need rain.. when we went over the bridge today coming back from Memphis, the water was low.. Beck said so, too. We really need a lot of rain..

Well, I'm going to go for now. I hope everyone had a good weekend. I wanted to come on and say hello. I will be extra busy this week. I have a meeting tomorrow and then I have to work Tuesday... It may be a few days before I can come on and visit.

Before I go, I ask that you all pray a special prayer for Jessica and Jason... Jason lost his job last week... you can read on Jessica's World what happened... it's really not fair... they are really worried and it is the Holiday season.... please pray for them.. hard.. they need it. As I said in a previous post title, God is Good.... and I am praying that Jason will get back his job... or get a better one!!!!

My Munchkin.... God is So Good....

Hello everyone... Well, Jessica and I left yesterday morning for Tenneesee to take Princess Emmy (aka my Munchkin) to her doctor's appointment. First of all, let me say that we arrived with no problems.. second of all, let me tell you, the people there were all so nice and kind. I guess I should have expected that because if you work in a children's hospital, you should be nice and kind. But anyways, Munch was a trooper.. which is great.. if you read Jessica's blog, you know that they had a rough night Tuesday night. But it was rough when they put in the iv... I hated it.. Jess and I both almost couldn't stand it! But she got through it and was a trooper! And she came up from anesthesia just great.. talking and making us crack up laughing.. babies are a lot tougher than we give them credit for.. my gosh, Jessica is a prime example of that... she has so many incidents to her credit, it's pitiful! lol ... But to get to the nitty gritty.... our baby is fine!!!!!! Praise the Lord!! He took biopsies .. just routine.. but said everything looked good. So, this is where I tell you how grateful I am for all your prayers!! Thank you all...

Jessica dropped me off and I decided to go Christmas shopping again... just to pick up a few things.. I'm going to do my best to have my shopping done at least 2 weeks before Christmas.. at least, that's my goal.. I am always shopping at the last minute, but I want it to be done... and then I'll be able to just pick up last minute gifts... I just don't want to be stressed out and I'm trying to get things done a little at a time so I can enjoy everything. With several parties, food, gifts, decorating, going caroling ( hopefully!), Christmas cards, etc., etc., there's so much to do! And I love it all!!

Well, we got a little rain today and it's supposed to cool off tonight. Hubby said it's getting a little cold now. More like Fall. I like it so much right now... if you get a chance, Diane and our sis, zztop have some beautiful pictures of Fall on their blogs....

I have plans after work on Saturday with my friend, Beck. There is a huge Christmas expo at our convocation center... we have gone to it together the past 3 or 4 years. We usually go eat lunch and then go wander around to look at everything.... it is really nice. That's all I have planned right now.

It was a Dark and Scary Night...

Well, actually, it was a fun and fabulous night! I'm talking about Halloween night. All of us dressed up at work... we had Cleopatra, a 50's sock-hop girl, a cow girl, and Naomi- from the Bible, and then myself, a doctor. We had so much fun! There were so many people that didn't know who I was.. I had a long blonde wig on and black framed glasses.. and my scrubs and doctor's coat. We all brought snacks and just had a good time.... Then after work, we had the weenie roast/hay ride at one of our church members houses. We had hot dogs, chips, chili, other snacks.. sodas, and candy... and smores! They were so good! There was about 8-10 of us who didn't go on the hay ride (I have asthma and am so allergic, I can't get in the hay) but that was ok. We got in comfy chairs and sat around the fire and talked. It was so much fun! Can't wait 'til next time..... By the way, a few people wanted me to post pictures but I didn't take any there but a friend of mine did and she is going to make copies for me and I'll see if Diane can scan them and put them on here for you. By the way, I made up my own doctor name.. I called myself Dr. Ima Butcher. Get it??

Saturday, my nephew and his wife (Danny and Mikki) invited Martha (my sis) to go to Memphis for Martha's birthday... which is today..along with Sue and Jessica...(HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARTH, SUE AND JESSICA!!!) We went to Red Lobster and then shopping... we had a great time. When I got home, I got my clothes ready for church and then took a good hot bath... of course, it was Saturday night, right Sister??

Yesterday, after church, my Hubby took all of us to lunch for Martha and Jessica and Sue's birthday... yes, they all have the same birthday! And then I share a birthday with our other sister, Donna (aka zz top) .. Diane and my sis-in-laws daughter have the same birthday... But back to lunch... we went to O'Charley's for lunch and it was wonderful!! I had chicken strips, a petite sirloin and popcorn shrimp. My Hubby got a shrimp scampi pasta dish and we fed Emmy (aka Munchkin) off our plates and, boy, did she eat!! We thought she'd surely pop!! She loves her bite-bites! We went to TJ Maxx and then to Old Navy shopping a bit and then headed back to church... we had a good time... Thank you, Honey!!

Today, Sue and I and Diane and Lamar met Jessica at Chili's and had lunch. And then I went Christmas shopping. I wanted to start early this year and I finally did it for once! I started shopping for my Hubby and for Munchkin. I got several things and am planning on going back tomorrow to a few different stores. I hate waiting 'til the last minute and I'm determined not to do that this year. I can't wait to decorate! My Hubby and I have the best time putting our tree up and getting the house ready. And we have a party for family and friends every year... well, for us, too. And I miss my Mom and Dad so much but it helps me to have all my family and friends around to enjoy the season and what it means... good friends and good family. If you have those, you are truly blessed.

I will have a party for work, for church and for us here. It is so busy but I love it! I hope that we get to go Christmas caroling this year. A bunch of us from church go if we can. And we have a wonderful time. We also have a ladies group at church (WMU) and we give at least 2 food baskets out every year for Thanksgiving and again at Christmas... and we give them to those that really need them... and it is wonderful to be able to do this for someone who really needs it. It is one of my fave things about this time of year. And we try to get names of kids who need gifts and try to get things for them... usually, we get names from Angel trees or the schools. It is truly fun and we love getting ready and knowing that the kids are getting gifts on Christmas. I didn't know I was poor when we grew up. Sound strange? I didn't know I was poor because our Mom and Dad seemed to always make Christmas so good for us. And things just didn't seem bad to me. I am so grateful to Mom and Dad for that. I miss them so, so much, that it is sometimes a physical ache in my heart, but they enjoyed the holidays so much because we were all together and I still enjoy them because of them.

Well, I guess I have blogged enough... but I still want to ask you all to pray for Emmy (aka Munchkin) because she goes Wednesday for her procedures at the hospital.... Please pray for her that if there is a problem, that they can deal with it with medication and my prayer is that it is nothing, maybe a food allergy... something simple that can be dealt with.... I plead for prayers for my Munch!!! And please pray for traveling safety....

Friday Fun!!

Hello everyone... Hope you're all doing well. I am tired.. we've been really busy at work ... but managed to get everything done and got home a few minutes after 6 pm. Seems like the week has just flown by. Went to a local steak house last Saturday to take our Pastor's wife out for Pastor appreciation month. After that, Martha and Sue and I went to the mall. We ran around for a while and then came home.

Then on Sunday, as Diane said on her blog, we had lunch after church for Pastor appreciation month. It was really good. Sandwiches, chips and dips, fried chicken, side dishes, and lots of desserts... we had a really good time. And our services Sunday night were wonderful!!

We're looking forward to tomorrow at work. Usually, every year at Halloween, we all dress up. I am going to be a doctor.... it's my fav thing to be. We just have a lot of fun and it's the one day of the year that you can be anything you want to be...... how cool is that? Then tomorrow night, our church is having a weenie roast, hay ride, and smores or toasted marshmallows.... we had it last year and had a blast.... and it looks like the weather is going to be pretty nice.. in the 70's during the day. I hope everyone has a safe night.

Prayers for Munchkin...

Hello everyone... I thought I'd do a short post tonight. Jessica and Jason took Emmy (my Munchkin) to the specialist Tuesday and she has to have further tests.. an endoscopy and a sigmoidoscopy on Nov. 5th. We all plead your prayers for her... and for all of our family. And we thank you for them...

Not much going on here... it rained all day today and is much cooler. I have to admit, I am looking forward to cooler weather. I don't like it hot all the time and I don't like it cold all the time, so, Arkansas is perfect for me. 1/2 the year it's hot, 1/2 cold. Best of both worlds...

Of course, I've got work tomorrow and then Saturday. After work Saturday, several of us from our church are taking our Pastor's wife out for lunch for Pastor Appreciation Month. It's a girl's day out lunch! Looking forward to it. Other than that, no other plans at the moment.

Wonderful Weekend...

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well. I am doing fine. I thought I'd blog a short message and check in with everyone. I have had a really good weekend. The weather has been much cooler and so nice! The sun has been shining the past few days and it has been a few perfect fall days.

I had to work yesterday and then when I got off work, my friend, Beck and I went to lunch at Colton's steak house ... she had chicken and I had grilled pork chops and loaded smashed potatoes, and rolls.. and we got honey bbq chicken with ranch dressing as our appetizer.. it was so good! Then we went shopping.... I got a few decorative things for the house and a few other things for me. ;-) We waited 'til late evening and went to get coffee and dessert... I had a Brown Cow to drink... it was very good... and chocolate cheesecake and Beck had turtle cheesecake and a mocha... it was wonderful!

I got up this am and got ready for church and went to Mickey D's for breakfast with 2 of my sisters ( Martha and Sue) and then headed to church. After church, my Hubby and I went to lunch at Lazzari's Italian Oven and then went shopping. I got a few things I needed for the house and then got a new comforter set for our room... mine is getting a little worn... Then we came home to rest a bit. Tomorrow, I'm not sure what my plans are yet. I haven't decided yet. My first plan is to sleep in if I can! Every now and then, I have trouble sleeping or wake up early and can't go back to sleep. I've missed sleep the last 2 nights and I'm hoping to sleep in a little... we'll see.....

Fall is In the Air....

Hello everyone! First of all, I'm sure you've noticed my new "look." I absolutely love it! I went online at Diane's and found the template and she ( my personal blog decorator ) came on and worked her wonderful, tedious, aggravating magic and now I have a beautiful, new blog!!! Thanks, Diane, for all your hard work!!! I really do appreciate it so much!

So, what is going on with everyone today? I had a sad day. A friend had to put her dog to sleep today and it broke my heart. Because it broke her heart. And he was a wonderful dog... I actually called him "the perfect man." He was precious and we will miss him.

It was raining when I got up to get ready for work.. and it rained all morning. Then when it was over, the cold front came through and it was actually pretty cool. The low tonight is 44 degrees. The coolest temp so far. I love Fall... as you can tell by my new blog and the little hints I've dropped in other posts. ;-) I can't believe that the month was half over yesterday! I will have to start my Christmas shopping in a few weeks. I'm determined to not do it all at the last minute!! Determined, I say!! We'll see.... To be continued.....

I had to pause a bit and watch my shows tonight. I like "Ugly Betty" and I love "Grey's Anatomy." That's about the only 2 things I watch regularly. Except for the Food Network.... I watch it all the time...

I have a date with a friend this weekend. Beck, my friend, just got back from Florida ... I am so jealous! I love Florida.. I've been there about 5 or 6 times and I absolutely love it! As a matter of fact, I ate the best seafood I've ever had in Florida.. at a Red Lobster there. It was delicious. But anyhoo, Beck called me Monday night and asked if I wanted a date Saturday night... well, of course I do!!! We are going to eat dinner and go shopping... my 2 fav things to do!! lol I do need some new tennis shoes and I also need some new black loafers.. so, I NEED to go!! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!! ;-)

I'm getting into the Fall "mood." I put out new potpourri and I put my new wreath on the front door. I got it at Sam's and it is really pretty. It has fall colored leaves, pumpkins, gourds and glitter... just so pretty. I love all the colors when the leaves start changing. I always start thinking about Thanksgiving, too. I can't believe that it's next month!! Time sure does fly.... sigh...

Fun Day....

Today started off very rainy. It woke me up around 6:30 ...as a matter of fact, it was raining so hard that it woke me up.. but I was so sleepy and I conked back out for a bit. I got up and got ready for the day. Sue (my sister)and I went to Wally World first. I had to get groceries so I went and then I brought them home. Then we went and picked up Diane and Lamar. I had a hair appointment at 11:00 and they waited while I got my hair cut and then we met Jessica, Jason and my Munchkin and all went to lunch at a really good steak house... Colton's. After lunch, Diane and Lamar went to the mall and Jason took Munchkin.. (aka Emmy) home for a nap. Jessica, Sue and I went to a few stores and then went back to their house for a while. Then, Sue and I picked up Diane and Lamar at the mall and headed home. Luckily, we didn't get rained on too much... just a bit this am. And we really need rain here .. except the fact that it's time for all the farmers to harvest crops and this is a really touchy time of year. It usually starts raining and doesn't stop for a while.. it's kind of held off a bit this year.... I remember a few years ago, a lot of the farmers lost a lot of crops because it rained so much and flooded the fields.....

That's what we did today. I came home and made a sandwich and got everything ready for work tomorrow and then took my shower. I thought I'd come on and leave a note since I've been missing a bit here lately. I was kind of like Jessica... I had so much going on and was under a lot of stress and just didn't/ wasn't able to come on for a bit. You know, like we've said before, "life happens."

I know this is a very scary statement but... did you know that next month is Thanksgiving?? Isn't that crazy? It is incredible to me that that much time has passed! Almost hot chocolate time!! Yippee!! ;-)

Hi everyone. If you paid attention to my title, you'll know what kind of weekend we're all having here. They are spraying, harvesting beans, picking cotton, etc. And it is making a lot of people sick. Also, the allergies are awful anyway.Saturday, I and 2 of my sisters (Martha and Sue) went to eat and went shopping. We had a good time. We ate at Chili's.. it was really good... country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn on the cob.. yum! Then we went to Kohl's to shop a bit. I always like to look at the jewelry.. earrings and necklaces.... unfortunately they are all together with the colognes.... and I think that every cologne in the place had been sprayed! Martha got a headache instantly and I started having trouble with my asthma. We left there and went to the mall to Barnes & Noble for a bit... and when we left there and started home, they had started burning a huge field off.... they usually burn rice and wheat fields off after they harvest here... so by the time I got home, I was miserable. I finally got settled down and rested good. Then I tried to sing yesterday in the choir and made it through but had to leave and use my inhaler.... just part of this time of the year..... I think it's worse this year though. We haven't had as much rain this year and I think the dust and allergens are just awful this time. But I've been through this every year since I was a child and like everyone else, I'll make it through.. just have to be careful and keep my inhaler with me. Well, enough about health issues...

I hope everyone is well and had a good weekend. Yesterday, Diane and Martha and I went to Danny and Mikki's ( Martha's son and daugher-in-law ) to eat lunch. We had grilled pork chops, potatoes cooked on the grill, green beans, and rolls. It was all so good! We visited with them and then went back to church and then home. It was a good day.

Today, Diane, Sue and I met Jessica and Munchkin and went to eat Chinese.. and then Jess, Diane, and Munch went back to their house. It's Pastor Appreciation Month and Sue and I went shopping for our Pastor's wife a gift. Then we went back to Jess and Jason's and spent some time with them for a while before coming home.

I have to go get my hair cut tomorrow but we have a good chance of some storms so, we'll see. And I need to go get a few groceries... other than that, I don't have any big plans. Spending the day with family again... then back to work. Work has been very busy and stressful... we upgraded our computers last week... what a nightmare!! But we made it through alive. We are still working out some bugs!!

Next weekend, I already have plans. Some very good friends are renewing their vows and I've been invited to be there. So, I have that at 5 pm on Saturday. Other than that, I don't know what else I'll be doing.

I'm Done....

I thought I'd come on and blog a bit ... which is ... I'm sure ... a surprise to a lot of you. But I'm not going to apologize this time for not being on. I've done that too many times now and, so, I'm not doing it again... All I can say is that, like Jessica, I've had a lot going on and a lot of it is personal and I don't want to go into it. All of us have times that we just need a break and I've just been busy and occupied with work and other things. So, I'm done.. apologizing, that is!! I will always come back unless I'm not able and in that case, Diane will update everyone for me...

So, I want to say hello to anyone who left me a comment and I didn't get back to you... I do apologize for that.. I will try to catch up as soon as possible....

We have had several families in our church with illnesses, or their families have members who are in the hospital or are terminally ill and one of our members had a really bad motorcycle wreck... a lady hit him on his motorcycle and he was in Tennessee in a trauma center for a few weeks and now just got to come home but is still in a bad way.... just so much going on and then things in our family.... and work... etc.. Seems like something all the time....

But I can say that our weather is improving. It was only 78 degrees today and the high on Thursday will be 72! Whoo hoooo!! I can live with that! I'm not looking forward to frost on the vehicle every morning but I like it when I can wear my sweaters and jeans and drink hot caramel machiattos... wrong spelling.. oops.... And snuggle on the couch with my furkids... sigh.. I think I've mentioned this before.....

Last Thursday was our Dad's birthday... he would have been 85 years old.. I miss you, Daddy. and I love you... I sent up a silent prayer to Heaven to him and said, "I hope you went fishing."

And Sunday, we had Homecoming at our church... it was a pretty good day.... Lots of food... music... fun.

That's about all I've done this week. I have to go back to work tomorrow and we are updating our computers. I'm trying to be positive, but I also have a little bit of dread.... It will all be different.... but I know that once we learn it, it will be routine and we won't even think about it.

It's Alive!!!!

Well, I am anyway.... Again I apologize for not coming on sooner. Life happens and I just can't always get on here. There's a lot going on right now. I hope you are all well. We had some wind last night from Hurricane Ike.. lots of limbs down everywhere and lots of trees and power outages different areas. Thank the Lord, no one around here was hurt... There was a lady in a neighboring town that had a tree land on her house and she and her husband had minor injuries.. and one man was killed in a town in Arkansas when a tree landed on his house. Very scary stuff. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those in the paths of these storms. Hopefully, it has settled now.

I will try to comment on your blogs if you've left me a message... I hate that I'm not as faithful sometimes on here as I need to be.. but I'll be back! Just may take me a few days!

Hello all.. I won't be able to stay on but a few minutes. I have to get ready for bed and get up early for work tomorrow. For the past several days, I could get on the internet but could not get into yahoo or msn... they were having problems. This was the first night I could get into yahoo.. or anything else. So, I will be late coming on to visit this week.. maybe on Thursday, I can catch up... I have a lot going on right now... I have a dear friend whose mother is in the hospital and is very ill. Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I am doing fine. I got off work Friday night and came home and had to go to bed for 3 hours with a migraine. Our weather has been weird. Lots of rain and cooler temperatures.. and lower humidity. And the barometric pressure really affects my head a lot lately. I had to get in bed and stay there. I know lots of women have them and they know what I mean when I say I was sick... nausea.. pain and just icky feeling! But anyway, our family was going to go out Saturday night and have dinner... I was so hoping that my head would be ok Saturday.... And I felt really funky when I got up Saturday am ( I call it headache head... more like meltdown headache head! ) But anyway, I made it through work and went to our mall with Sister ( my sister... Martha)and her granddaughter and then to ur new Christian bookstore to look around for a bit. Then we went to get Diane and Lamar and our other sister, Sue, for our dinner with the family. We had a good time... It was so much fun watching Munchkin (Princess Emmy)! Her face was priceless when the chef lit the grill on fire! lol .. so funny! We had a really good time.

I went to church yesterday morning but had to come home after church.. my head was getting bad again. So, I missed Dianes's Sunday dinner... bet it was good... sigh.. I just feel drained today but am ok...

Today, me, Sue, and Diane went to an Italian restaurant that we all like and had lunch... well, they did. I told you I had headache head... I forgot to order any lunch and the waiter heard us talking about dessert and thought I was just going to wait and order dessert... sigh... so I ate off of the other girls plates... just like Munchkin.. she and I mooched off the others! Then I got dessert.. Amaretto Almond Torte... very good!

When we got through with lunch, Jessica took Munch home for a nap and Diane went with them.. Sue and I went to Pi*er 1. I needed candles.. I love candles and room sprays from there. Then we went to the mall... and looked around for a bit.. And I got some lemonade and we went to Jessica and Jason's for a while. By the time I got back into town, I was starving (whodda thunk it?!) so I called our other sister (Martha) and she met me at a local bbq place for dinner... I got a bbq sandwich and she got some hotdogs.. I was very hungry by then! lol... my own fault... and I didn't even realize I hadn't ordered wny food until they brought the other girls plates out!!! Some headache, huh? lol

Tomorrow, I'll go grocery shopping and get what I need for the week. I have to work the rest of the week so I try to get snacks, bread, sodas, groceries to last all week. or anything else I'll need.... Other than that, I don't have any concrete plans.. will probably go to Diane and Lamar's for a while.

Here Comes the Rain Again...

Hi everyone... We've been having the best weather! It has been much cooler and just so nice out... I wish it would be this way for about 6 months!! The humidity was a little higher today but it was because we were going to have some thunderstorms. It rained all day yesterday and then again this afternoon. We need the rain.

I really like fall. It is one of my fave times of year. It won't be long and the leaves will start to turn beautiful colors and it will turn a little cooler.. and the fall festivals and fairs will start... it will be great. And then winter will be upon us... I get a little depressed when it gets all dreary. But I love the holidays... and I get excited... just like a child, I guess! And I can't believe that in a little over 3 months, is Thanksgiving... time.. it does fly! I like when it gets cold enough for hot chocolate with marshmallows and getting out my fave throws and climbing on the couch with my kids and watching a good movie!! or the Food Network!! I'm sure everyone has their favorite things about Fall and Winter...

I am glad that it's almost time for the weekend... isn't everyone?! I guess I'll go for now.. need to get ready for bed... gotta work tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well and that you all have a good rest of the week... Hugs to all... Cecil

I Owe, I Owe.. It's Off to Work I Go.....

Well, I have to go back to work tomorrow. sigh.... A woman's work is never done... he he he.. Everyone I know has to work.... I haven't made my first million yet... oh wait, maybe I spent it!! Oh well....

I thought I'd come on for a minute and just say "hi, hello." I got up at 7:45 this am and got ready to start the day. I went and picked up Sue (sister) and we went to Wally World and got a few things. Then, it was time for my hair appointment. I got my hair trimmed and high-lighted. It is a lovely copper/blonde color. I really like it a lot. I have very dark hair and I like to lighten it up a bit. My last highlights were caramel and butterscotch.. also nice colors. After we left there, we went to Diane's... she told us yesterday that she'd make lunch for all of us... it was SO good!! We had meatloaf, fried squash, and mashed potatoes... yum! I didn't eat anything last night so I was starving by the time we got there to eat! Thanks, Diane!! Jessica, Jason and Munchkin were there to eat, too. We ate and then played with Munch for a while. Then, Jason went and picked up ice cream for us at a local dairy bar.. then they went home so Jess could rest a bit because she went back to work tonight.... but she was going to have help so she thought it would be ok.... Munch also needed to go home for a nap.. she was so tired.....

I came home a did a few things around the house and got my clothes ready for work tomorrow and took my shower and ate a snack.. thought I'd come on and comment on a few blogs and then get ready for night-night as we say to Munch.. lol

Sunny Day....

Hey everyone.. hope you are all well. I am fine. Thought I'd stop by and blog a bit. Had a good weekend. When I got off work Saturday, I went and spent the afternoon with Jessica, Jason and Munchkin. Then I headed home for a hot bath and got everything ready for church yesterday. We had a good service and then after church, Diane made a really good lunch for us... ham, garden peas, biscuits ( homemade), potatoes... cooked in with the ham.. it was all so good.

Today, me, Diane and Sue went to Jessica and Jason's and sat with them for a while. Jessica's granny was there, too. We all loaded up and went to I*HOP and ate lunch... it was really good. Then Jessica, Jason and Munchkin went home ... Jessica was tired and Munch really needed a nap! So, Diane, Sue and I went to the mall for a while. I needed a new daytimer and had already spotted one at Barne*s and Noble a few weeks ago. So, I went and got it and a smaller version for my purse and had to pick up the latest Rachel R*ay magazine. Sue and I wandered in the mall for a bit and I went to get a lemonade. Then we went back to Diane's for the rest of the afternoon. I came home and sat down for a bit and got my new daytimer ready and updated a few things in it.... and then decided to update my blog and check in with everyone. I have a date again this weekend........ with my friend Beck. We are going out for dinner and shopping... that's if we don't pass out from heat exhaustion! But I think we'll manage.

I am so sleepy, I can barely sit here. I thought I'd try to blog a bit... esp since it's been a week since I've been on here! Sorry... been busy.... I know that sounds lame but it's the truth. I'll try to answer all the comments you've all left me and I truly appreciate them all.

Hello Again....... Monday, August 4, 2008

I hope everyone is doing well. I am fine... I came home and cleaned house tonight and took care of my kids and then took a good, cool shower. I didn't cool off until I got my shower... that could be because it was over 100 degrees today! Our weather gurus say that we have a slight chance of showers later in the week .. and that that could bring us a little lower temp... in the 90's... I'll take it!!!

I had a good weekend. I worked on Saturday and then went home to freshen up and wait on my friend, Beck. We went to a steak house and ordered lunch... I had a small steak and some fried shrimp.. and a loaded baked potato and dinner rolls.. and Coke to drink... it was so good! We were both starving ... I get a combo meal and the steak is very small and it comes with 4 shrimp.. just enough for me. We left there and went to our mall.. to Bed, Bath, Beyond... I really like going there.... they have the best things there. This time, though, I didn't need anything.. so I waited "til we got to Dilla*rds... I buy my make-up from a place called Ori*gins.. I got an eye shadow and mascara and then we both got hand massages from the ladies... it was so nice! Then they showed us a tiny little bottle .. it smelled wonderful... it is supposed to help de-stress you and even helps with migraines.... Beck got some Saturday night... I waited. We went all through the mall and by the time we left there, we were getting hungry so we went to San Francisco Bread Co. and got a sandwich... then we went to Koh*l's and shopped a bit. They had some tshirts on sale and I got 3... I won't be buying much else for summer.... I have more winter clothes than summer clothes but that's ok... I've been slowly going through my closets and getting rid of some things that I don't wear... I say slowly because I have asthma and almost put myself in the emergency room last year ... I have to be careful with dust and must... But I have to start a little at a time in my big closet so I can have more room ... I think that if I haven't worn it the past year and a half, I'm probably not going to wear it. I'm even going through my shoes... I don't have very many... not compared to others! But anyways, it's a work in progress!!

I got in Saturday night and was so tired that I didn't even take a bath... I washed up and studied my Sunday school lesson and hit the bed! I did get my clothes ready so I would have something ready to wear and could get my shower done and be ready to go eat breakfast with Martha (sister) before church. We had good services at church and then went to Crac*ker Barrel with Martha, her granddaughter, and Diane and Lamar , and Jessica met us there. We had a good lunch and then went to Diane and Lamar's and crashed for a bit. Literally. Martha went to sleep on the couch and I went to sleep in Diane's recliner. Lamar went to their room and Diane went and got on her computer... Bless her, she didn't evict us! I slept for about an hour... I went right to sleep, too. I am on several allergy meds and I get so sleepy around 4 pm and just want to sleep so badly! Everyday. But, of course, I can't do that at work! I am trying to back off of it some to see if that will help.

Today, I wanted to go to the mall and get some of the migraine remedy at Dill*ards so I called Sue and Diane. Diane didn't really want to go to the mall so we went ahead and went and Diane stayed home and rested. We went to see Jessica and Jason and Munchkin. I guess I am biased but she is the cutest baby ever!! She is so funny! I love her so much! I felt the same way about Jessica when she was a baby. We went to Wal-Mart and got a few things and then went back to their house and rested a while and then came home. It was so hot out that I didn't even want to get out again.

Well, I think I've rambled enough. I think this is the longest post I've done in a while. Hope I didn't put everyone to sleep! I'll check back in soon. I do have a request of you all.... Jessica is going for her pre-op tomorrow and then will be having surgery on Friday.... Please pray for her that everything will go well and that this helps her...... I have to work and Diane will take care of Emmy and Lamar and his mom will go with her... And Jason just started his new job, so, he'll have to go to work.... Please pray for traveling safety for them, also..

Hi everyone... just thought I'd stop by and say hello for a minute. I have to get up early for work but I wanted to visit a minute... It's been a long day today... busy. But all in all, a good day. I've been needing a good day... don't we all? I don't have the shower head problems like Diane.. lol.. at least not for now... But that could certainly happen any time now... who knows?? ;-)

It was so nice out when I left for work this am.. cooler... but of course this weekend is going to be almost 100 degrees. I'm about tired of this kind of heat... it's time for cool... I guess we're never happy.

I actually made plans for this weekend so I probably won't be on for a few days after this. A friend and I have a date. We've planned dinner and shopping... my 2 favorite things! :0)
We actually had plans for last weekend but had to cancel. So, we're going this weekend. Other than that, that's all that's on my agenda. What are your plans?

I have exciting plans for next week ... I'm getting my oil changed in my car. he he he.. but it has to be done.... I actually need to clean out my car and wash it, too. We'll see....

Well, I am really sleepy so I guess I'll go for now... Hubby's crazy cat woke me up at 3 am.. yowling.... carrying a cat toy... sigh... So, I am ready for bed.

I thought I'd come on for a bit and say "hello." Thank you all for your sweet comments about my Percy. I really appreciated all of the kind things you all had to say. I just haven't had the heart to come on and I've been busy with work. On Saturday, Sue (sister) and I went to eat lunch at Chili's and to our mall to look around a bit. Then, I went to Barnes & Noble and got the latest Rachael Ray magazine and a cream based caramel frozen drink... yum! One of my favorite treats. Then we came home and I sat down and read my Sunday school lesson , got my clothes ready for church and then took my bath... yes, my Saturday night bath! he he he... Then I read my new magazine and got ready for bed. It was so hot out that it was sickening. I didn't feel like doing much Saturday night.

In Loving Memory......of My Percy...

Hey Everyone... I won't be on long. To be honest, I almost didn't come on at all. A week ago today, I had to put one of my kids to sleep and I am still having a very hard time with it. He was my 15 year old baby and his name is Percy. I had to do it because he had cancer... but last week was just horrible. We are having him cremated and want to spread his ashes somewhere... we haven't decided where yet. He was my baby and I miss him terribly.... I don't have human kids... I have my furkids and my sweet African Dwarf frog... Edith. So, to be honest, my heart hurts and I just don't feel like blogging much. I wanted to come on and say hi and that I appreciate the comments you've left me and I will check in with everyone later. I know some people don't understand the pet thing and that's ok.... they just don't know what they're missing.. and they aren't pets to me, they are my children. I raised him on a bottle and cleaned up after him and he was wonderful to me and my Hubby. What kind of price can you put on that? None.

It's Getting Hot in Here...

Well, that title was a lie! It's been hot in here. It was 78 degrees in here this morning at 10:00. This is the part of summer that I don't enjoy... it's the time of summer around here that can be dangerous. I get sick sometimes each summer because it is so hot. We just try to stay cool. Jessica and Munch came over this morning and was here all morning and then I went and got Sue and we went to Diane and Lamar's. We (Jess and I) went to a local shake shop and picked up our lunch... burgers and fries, sodas and ice cream... it was so hot!! Jessica filled up Munckin's little pool out back and we took her out for a bit and even with my legs in her pool, it was still almost miserable. By the time I came home about 6:30, I just felt drained. So, I came in and took a cool shower and washed my hair and got some pj's on and I feel better now!!

Tomorrow, Jessica will be gone for her recheck in Little Rock for her problems she's been having. If you read on here in time, I'd appreciate your prayers that her recheck goes well and for traveling safety... I know that she'd appreciate it, too. Lamar and his Mom are going with her.

Well, not much else is going on here. I thought I'd come on and say "hi." I probably won't be on tomorrow night. I have a date with a friend so I will probably come in and take a shower and get my act together to go back to work. I have enjoyed my time off... it was great... I spent most of it with my favorite people.. my family!! I hope you got to spend time with your family over the 4th.

Hey Everyone! I hope you're all doing ok. I am tired but fine. I had to get a new computer... it was a hard task, yes, but I managed.... he he he.... Thanks to my Hubby! Well, we get to be off for a few days from work.... I am so glad... we will be closed for the next 2 days, so we all feel like we've gotten a little mini vacation. Whoo hooooo!!!!!

I got to see my sister on Wednesday for a bit at my work. It was good to see her. And my niece, too. I was just busy and couldn't visit much... sorry, Donna! Love ya!!!

I will try to visit everyone who has left me comments lately as soon as I can. I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July! Please remember our soldiers all over the world and the ones who have gone on that fought and died and continue to fight and die for our independence.... Keep them in your prayers....

Update On Cecil's Computer Woes

Hi, everyone, Cecil's sister DIANE here again, posting for Cecil.

Cecil's computer is still not working for her and now they think the motherboard may be going bad on it. I have only a vague idea what a motherboard may do, but I know it's bad when it doesn't work.

Cecil and her hubby are looking for a new laptop and thought they were going to buy one but after being preapproved they found that they wanted $300 down and outrageous monthly payments, so they won't be going that route.

I'll keep everyone posted until Cecil can get back online, and hopefully we can both remember to have her post sometime soon while she's here at my place.

Technical Difficulties....

Hi, everyone. This is Cecil's sister Diane, posting on Cecil's behalf.

Cecil asked me to post this for her because she's having some computer problems. She's tried several times over the last few weeks to post on her blog, but her laptop is being cantankerous. The power cord has a short in it and won't let her power up her computer. Just about the time she gets the laptop booted up and gets online her computer goes off.

So, the bottom line is that Cecil has no idea when she may be able to post on her blog again. Neither of us thought about it or she could have posted on her blog when she was here at my place.

Her laptop is several years old and has some other issues, so she and her hubby are discussing whether to try to find a new power cord for her laptop and try to get a little more use from it, or if the money would be better spent toward a new laptop.

In the meantime, Cecil can access her blog when she's here at my place so you can continue to comment here, or you can leave any messages for her on my blog if you wish and I'll pass them on to Cecil.

We'll try to keep everyone posted about Cecil's computer issues and if it's an extended time before she can use her own computer maybe we can both remember for her to blog while she's here.

It's Getting Hot in Here.......

Hi everyone... I know I know, I'm about a week or 2 early coming to blog!! ;-) .. But I'm trying to do better. First of all, I want to say Hi to my sister Donna (aka zztop). and also to Sammy... I'm glad you guys stopped by to visit.

To Donna.... I miss seeing you. I have been so busy lately and haven't done much. I need to be cleaning but for some odd reason, just really don't want to!! It must be a sickness... I must get help for it! he he he..... But other than work, not much going on... Hope you're all doing ok... Love all of you....

To Sammy.... You REALLY should start a blog. I sure like hearing from you. You are an encouragement to me! I enjoy blogging very much but am just too tired sometimes to come on... but I'll be back... soon... even if it takes me a bit!!

I had a busy week last week but it was ok.... the one before that was very busy and very stressful but I made it through. :-0 I had to work a few extra hours the past few weeks and I am getting my usual days off this week... and I am so glad! I'm going to go in the a.m. and get my hair a make-over... my stylist is going to put a gloss on my hair to make it more manageable.. it is naturally curly.. and I'm getting it cut and getting some highlights in the front. I've been wanting some highlights for a while... I haven't had them in a long, long time. My hair is very dark and I can't wait to get it done!! Lighten things up a bit!

I am keeping the tv on ... we could have some severe storms later... what else is new? you ask?! It has already gotten very humid and hot.. eewww! Sticky.... eewww!!!! Hello, Arkansas summer!!

This weekend, Diane, Lamar and Sue and I went to shop a bit and then to a steak house... you already know this if you read Diane's blog... I got pork chops and a baked potato.. it was very good.... like Diane said, it was very busy... and loud in there! But I enjoyed the company anyway.

I may be a little too busy to come on tomorrow night so I thought I'd come on and say hello and check in with everyone. I wish I could settle and blog every day but just can't right now... Diane did a meme that I'd like to do but don't have time tonight. I'll try to do it later.

Today, Diane and Lamar had to go do some shopping, so, Jessica took them and Sue and I did our own thing for a while. I got woke up early by a horrible sinus headache and it just kept getting worse. I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday at lunch at Diane and Lamar's, so Sue and I went to IHOP and got breakfast. It was really good. I'm not a big breakfast person ... but Hubby is!!! but I got a good breakfast last weekend when I was off on Saturday and when Sue said she'd like to go there, it was ok with me. I ordered the same thing ... a breakfast sampler with eggs, bacon, sausage, ham and hashbrowns ... small portions on the meats, by the way.. and you can get pancakes but I get the Swedish crepes... yum!! Very good. Then after lunch, we went to the mall and looked around for a while.

And then we went to Diane and Lamar's to visit with them and Jessica and Munchkin... Had a good day today. I can't believe how much Princess Emmy has grown.. can't believe she is already a year old... and so much fun!!! I love finding cute clothes for her and getting little goodies for her! She is so precious!! Jessica grew up so fast and being with the Munch is like having her as a baby again.. lots of fun!!!

I am tired because I woke up early so I am going to have to go so I can take a shower and get in bed soon. My hair appointment is at 8:30 so I'll get up about 7 in the a.m. and get ready to go.... I have to drive about 20 minutes to get to the shop....

Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head....

Hmmm... My titles seem to have a theme. Rain. We had some thunderstorms yesterday. I had to go grocery shopping yesterday and it was sprinkling when Sue and I went in Wally World. We left there and went to Mickey D's and got some lunch for me and her and Diane and Lamar. We ate and played a few games and then a few thunderstorms blew through.. it hailed a little and the wind blew pretty hard and rained like crazy. A tree blew down on a street close to the school but as far as we know, no other damage. And we are expecting rain this afternoon. Hopefully, nothing severe.

I've had a lot going on lately so I haven't been on. Sorry, once again. :-( .... Hello to Sammy and to my sister... zz top... Sorry I've missed everyone lately.

This weekend, we were closed for the first time in a long time so I asked Ducky (Sister) and Sue if they wanted to go and eat and go shopping. We went to IHOP and got breakfast and then went to a little shop with purses and jewelry and looked around and then went to the mall. I needed some make-up and just wanted to go and shop around. We had a good time.

After that, Ducky's son, Danny and Mikki... his wife.. invited us all up for a fish fry/ Boston butt dinner. We had tons of food... fries, and then desserts... cake, brownies, strawberries with little sponge cakes.. it was all delicious! I came home and took a shower and got ready for bed.. don't worry everyone.. I had my Saturday bath that morning!! I just took a shower that night!! We were outside for a while with Munchkin and Seth.. Danny and Mikki's baby.. while they played in the kiddie pool and with a water table... they had a blast.. and we did, too.

Toto.. We're Not in Oz Anymore.....

Hello everyone... I know I've been MIA again... sorry... I spent all weekend with family. And work has been almost overwhelming this past week. I am still waiting to make my first million so I still have to work... And just so you know, I am still having 'puter problems. So, for tonight, I will just leave a short note and tell you all that I miss you and will try to come on more and leave comments on your blogs. Hubby said he may have this one worked on or he may just buy me a new one... yippee!! ;-) ... I don't really care as long as I can have a 'puter and it works....

I had to work Saturday and then we had Munchkin's birthday party... her first birthday.. my gosh, where has the time gone? It was so cute... she didn't destroy her cake.. just played in it a bit.. but it was ok.... She was so cute!!!! She got tons of goodies....

After the birthday party, Hubby and I and my sis Martha went shopping. We went to the Mall and while we were there, the tornado sirens went off.. and it rained so hard you couldn't see your hand in front of you and then it started hailing.... it was very scary and as you read on Diane's blog, there was a tornado in the storm... I was ready to hide...but I just prayed that God would keep us all safe... and He did... thank you, dear Lord!!! We are expecting more bad weather tomorrow evening and even the next few days... whew! I'm ready for it to be over....

Happy Mother's Day to you all! I tried to keep it at bay this year, I guess. I really missed Mom this year and it was difficult for me to get through... like everyone else in the family.. and I had a few moments yesterday... and of course, it was more than that but I am ok and doing fine now. All in all, it was a good day. Several of our family went to eat Mexican yesterday and had a good time. Then Martha and Diane and I went to Diane's house and just vegged out for a bit. Then Martha and I went to Wally World and then home.

Today, Sue and Diane and I went to eat Chinese and Jessica and Munchkin met us there. Then we went to Books-a-Million and looked around for a bit. After that, we went to Diane's. I came home and made some pasta and had a tiny Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie ice cream. I'm not a big ice cream eater... I only like a few and it's usually a case where I eat a little and I'm done. But this was a tiny little cup... the perfect size for me. But I do like frozen coffee drinks.. certain ones... especially Starbucks... yum!!! I'll take a frozen caramel macchiato anytime over regular ice cream!!

Hey everyone... In spite of all the tornadoes, we are all doing ok for now. We have more bad weather coming in tomorrow evening. I am going to try to catch the weather in a few mins.... I'm sorry I've been MIA again. I have been extremely busy and have been out of pocket... Just wanted to come on and let you know that I'm still around. I am having a bit of 'puter trouble sometimes. I am very tired and won't be up long and will try to comment on everyone's blogs in a few days. I have gone for about 2 weeks on very little sleep but the Lord blessed me the past few nights and I am so glad... I'm going to go to bed in a few minutes and try to rest. I had to work today and it was very busy and very stressful so maybe I'll conk out when I go to bed!! Thank you all for your comments and I will be back soon... It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...

Well, today was a beautiful day... it was warm and sunny all day. I was so glad. It rained yesterday and was kind of cool... today was so nice. Last night was not nice. I was very sick.. my lunch did not set well and I had a headache and nausea... and I hurt all over. I took meds and got in my bed and stayed there all evening... And I got woke up and 4:50 am this morning... I was dreaming I was mad at Hubby and I guess I woke myself up and then my neighbors decided to make enough noise to keep me awake the rest of the time. I finally got up and got got ready for work and went to MC..Donald's and got breakfast.. no more headache or nausea.. thank goodness!! And then I went to work.. we were very busy but left work on time.. another reason to be thankful!!

My sis, Martha's son and daughter-in-law called and asked us to meet them for lunch so we went and met them at Dixie Cafe... lunch was good... chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and mac and cheese and rolls and corn muffins. We went shopping at Goody's and then to Barnes & Noble.. I got a few of my fav magazines... Rachael Ray and Martha Stewart and a Better Homes & Gardens book with recipes.... Then we came home. I got my kids fed and then took a bath.... of course, it's Saturday night!! ;-) And I also ironed my clothes for church tomorrow.. Speaking of church, we have revival this week so I may be scarce again... It will go through Friday.

Last weekend, Martha's son and daughter-in-law took us both to Memphis to eat at Red Lobster and then shopping. The food was FABULOUS!! I had salad, cheddar bay biscuits, baked potato, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, and grilled shrimp.... oh my gosh, I get hungry just thinking about it!!! lol.. I got home at 9 pm and just kind of melted when I walked in the door.. I was worn out. So, I went to bed and took my shower on Sunday morning. We had a good time.

Sunday was really good at church. We had singing that evening. It was so good! It was a sad day for us because if you read Diane's blog then you know it was the anniversary of our Mom's death.... but we made it through... I sure miss my Mom... and Dad, too..

Well, I guess I'll go for now. I hope everyone has a great weekend and all is well with all my blog friends...

It's Friday.... and My Mattress is Still on My Bed!

Hello everyone! If you read my previous post then you know that I made it through the storms.. it got a little rough for a bit but settled down. I got woke up out of a dead sleep by a big clap of thunder and it scared me so bad that I jumped violently and scared poor Amos so bad he jumped up out the bed and ran to the hall! Bless his heart.. he sleeps right up against me and I just about caused him to have a coronary!! Our capitol had a lot of damage... Little Rock... they did have a tornado touch down. One of the ladies I work with has a daughter who lives close by there and she was on her way home and had to rush home and take cover... she and her husband are ok... It gets really scary when these tornadoes start popping up... And we have so much water! Several of the places that were already flooded have been flooded again for the second time.. I pray that it's over for a while....

I came home and did a few things in the house and then fed the furkids.. and made myself a ham sandwich and had some Cheetos...and I thought I'd stop in and blog a bit before I go to bed..

I still don't know what I'm doing tomorrow after work... I'm still leaning toward coming home and vegging out ... that's what Sammy voted for!! ;-) But we'll see...

Rainy Days and Stormy Nights.... Sigh....

Well, once again we have storms in our forecast. We have a good chance of severe weather tonight. It has rained most of the day and we could have some bad storms around 2 am... I have to get up and go to work so I have to get in the bed in a while... I hope that I don't wake up on my mattress in a field... and I'm not being funny.... I have talked to Diane and told her that if they are awake and it's getting bad, to please call me. Her and Lamar are my storm trackers!

I hope everyone is doing good... I am ok, just tired. I hate our time-change. I get used to one time and then they change it...

I am thinking seriously about staying home on Saturday afternoon and watching movies... I'm not sure yet.. I usually do something after work.. but unless I change my mind, I'll probably stay home.. who knows? A woman's perogative.... I thought about getting some good food and just vegging out... but if someone calls...or the mood hits.... hmmmm....... Sometimes I just get on the couch and watch tv and Amos and Zaboomafoo climb up here with me and we take a nap... there's a thought! ;-)

Here Comes the Rain Again... And Again.. And Again..

I guess you get the idea... we have had about all the water we can stand... literally. Our local weather guru is worried about Thursday. We could be in for some more bad storms and more heavy rain... something we don't need. We need lots of prayer about this!!

Yesterday, we (me, Diane, Lamar, and Sue) went and ate lunch at a local buffet... Ryan's .. and then I had to go take some sandals back to our mall and then we got coffee and went back to Diane's and spent the afternoon talking and of course, playing with the Tiny Munchkin Person... aka Emmy... :-) We had a good afternoon.... Last night, we had storms again... sigh... I had to turn my computer off before I could do much because it was lightning pretty bad....

Today, Diane had to be gone all day... she had a doctor's appointment and then had to go do her shopping for the month... well, part of it anyway.. So, Sue and I went and got lunch and went to wander around in the mall. After that, we went to Jessica and Jason's and tortured them for the afternoon... well, it was probably more torture for Jason since we played with the baby and she is very vocal and so are we.... including Jessica... we are loud when we play with the baby and she is kind of loud sometimes, too.... we had a good time...

Hello everyone.. just wanted to say hi.. I am about to get in bed.. I am very tired. I got woke up early by the garbage truck... way to early... and I am really hating this time change.. I love the fact that we have more light in the evening but it is killing my sleep! But anyway, I get up at 6 and go to work at 7:30 and I worked 'til 6:30 tonight. So, I am ready to go to bed now.. And another long day tomorrow.. that's life... if you're not independently wealthy anyway..

Hello everyone... I, as you can see by my title, was a little busy today. I did laundry and went to Jessica's. We had a good day... Munchkin was so much fun! I enjoy watching Jessica with her... they are just so adorable together and when Jason comes in, that baby's face just lights up! I love them all to pieces!!!
It was so pretty out today but very windy...

We ( me and Sue) went to Wally World and picked up a few groceries... I came home and fixed some pasta and had dinner and then got everything ready for work tomorrow.. of course, I have to work the rest of the week, so I'll check back in as much as I can.... I have plans for the weekend with Hubby so I may not be able to come on then but I will do my best to check in in the next few days.

Hopefully, next week will be the beginning of my life-change.. I am going to try my best to get healthy and lose weight... please pray for me!! I need it!! I hope that the weather cooperates so I can start walking soon...

First of all, Happy Easter to everyone! I hope that everyone remembered the true meaning of Easter yesterday... not eggs but an empty tomb... a risen Saviour that died for us and then arose.. unmerited favor... unlimited love and grace.... Thank you, God... for loving me though I am so unlovable and so undeserving... and yet, you still call me your child... undeserving of even one second of grace... but given eternity... I don't understand it all, but I am so thankful!!!

I hope that everyone got to spend time with their families yesterday. I did. The program at our church was very good. Everyone did a good job.... Diane was in it.... I enjoyed it very much. I came home after church and watched the Food Network for a bit and then read for a while and went to bed.

I needed to do some errands today but just didn't feel up to it. I didn't sleep well last night and got up feeling groggy and had a headache. I called Diane and Sue and we went to lunch and back to her house. We got sandwiches and sodas.... and Diane and I got coffee... Jessica came to Diane's with Munchkin and we spent the afternoon playing with her.... Sue and I headed home and she provided me with dinner tonight... ribs and roast potatoes... yum! At the moment, "Dancing with the Stars" is on... I like watching it....

Tomorrow, I have to do some laundry and I need to go grocery shopping... even the "kids" need food.... I live with furkids and I have to keep them fed.. or they may come after me! he he he...

I seriously need to go on a "life change".... I don't like to call it a diet... because I need to get in gear and lose weight.. I've lost weight twice and then put it back on... Diane and Lamar are cutting back.. I've been thinking about it for 2 months and I've been thinking about going walking as soon as it's warm enough... we have a very nice sports complex here in town.. and it has a good track...

I am really disappointed in myself... when our Dad got sick, I started eating whatever I wanted and started putting on weight again. I have been eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and ever how much I wanted... it's time to get a grip and get back on track... I felt so much better and felt a lot better about myself when I lost weight... I want that back... And as far as I'm concerned, surgery is not an option for me because I've lost weight twice already and I know I can do it again... I just have to get in gear and do it!

Sunny Day, Everything's A-OK......

I was beginning to think the sun was gone forever.... but today, it was shining all day and it warmed up... so nice... sigh... and I was stuck inside at work... oh well, believe me, I was so glad to see it!! And the flooding is so bad in parts of the state that any sun at all should help... now the flooding will be worse in some areas because the rivers will be cresting... such devastation.... I've lost my house to fire and my church, too... my heart goes out to all who have lost homes and especially, loved ones...

Well, as I said, I had to work today and we were busy... makes the time go fast though... I came home and cleaned house and took a good hot shower and then made me some dinner.... don't get excited... I worked 9-1/2 hours today and then worked when I got home... so my dinner came out of a box tonight.. I had a Michelina's low fat grilled chicken alfredo florentine dinner and a lean cuisine grilled turkey panini... but even though they were out of a box, they were very good. I usually just pick something up on Friday night or eat something here because I got off work later sometimes ...

I had a few comments about the picture on my blog.. it is our youngest cat, Amos. My husband took the picture of him on the back of our loveseat... we also have 3 other cats.. Percy, Zaboomafoo, and Patches.... and of course, I have my beautiful frog, Edith!! No, Sammy, I can't imagine not having a cat... they are wonderful creatures indeed... as are dogs and other pets...

Hello everyone... I hope you are all well and I've apologized until I'm ashamed.. so I'll just say that I've been very busy and I've missed you ... We have been dodging tornadoes tonight.. literally. There was a funnel cloud close to Diane and Lamar... or so they said... the chief of police in their town called the tv station and said there was no funnel cloud as someone reported... Arkansas is having storms and flooding... there has already been1 death because of the flooding in another county... very scary...

I hope that everyone is well and been doing ok.. I have the tv on and am monitoring the weather.. it's not storming here.. just raining... so I will stay on for a bit unless it starts lightning... which is a possibility... :(

I went shopping on Saturday for a new outfit for Easter and I've got to tell you... most of the tops out now look like maternity clothes!! That's ok if you're tiny but if you have any meat on your bones, you're doomed to look like you're ready to give birth!! Maybe I'm the only one who's noticed... I do like some of the tops so I may end up with one before it's overwith... some are not so bad.. they're made a little different... sigh... I did find a new blouse... on sale!!

Hello everyone... I am getting on late again tonight but I wanted to come on and say hello. I came home and cleaned house and fed the furkids and the beautiful frog...so, I have been busy. Then I took a bath and made myself a turkey sandwich.. it was very good and had some Pringles to go with it... they were loaded baked potato... very yummy... try them, you'll like them! :-)

I wasn't able to come on last night. I had church last night and got in later. But anyway.. I am trying to play catch-up. I apologize but I don't have time to respond to everyone individually tonight.. again. I hope to get to do that soon. Boy, Was it Windy!!

On Sunday........As usual, our weather was weird today. It was fairly warm this am and then by 4 pm, it started turning colder. And the wind was terrible. I was glad to come home after church and get in my warm house! And it is supposed to be 44 degrees tomorrow. Of course, that's not very cold if you live in some places but for us, it's cold. But the weather guru's say it will be 68 degrees on Sunday.. that scares me... because I am afraid we will be in for more bad storms... the last ones were deadly... I will pray all week!!

Today, Sue and I went to McDonalds and got lunch and went to Diane's. We ate and started a game and then Jessica and Munchkin came in ... after that, all we did was entertain ourselves with her... of course... We had our ladies meeting tonight at church. Diane cooked white beans and made yeast rolls... Martha and I supplied chicken strips, honey-bbq chicken andn popcorn chicken, potato salad, and sodas... It was really good... and one of the other ladies brought a chocolate chip pie for dessert. We all left full!

Tomorrow night we are going to a presentation at another church that will have jewelry and cloth and crafts from Ghana... and other places.. I am looking forward to that....

It is cold tonight and Wednesday we may have sleet and freezing rain.. I hope not because I don't drive on it.. and I will have to go to work .. More prayers for the weather!!

Hello everyone... I know I have been MIA.. sorry. I have been really busy and just had a lot going on... like life. ;-) I should be able to post more now. I hope you are all well. I am sorry I missed coming on yesterday but Happy Valentines Day to you all! I worked yesterday.. stayed busy all day and then dealt with an emergency at work and still managed to get off work just 10 minutes after quitting time... Then Hubby and I went out for Valentines dinner... we had Chinese and then just went to a few stores shopping around. We had a good time.. but I had to work today so I couldn't stay out late.... plus I usually go to bed around 10 or 10:30... so I had to get home. As I told my friend, Karen, I have bouts with insomnia sometimes. I try my best to get in bed early. By the way, Karen, thanks for the wreath and banner you have for me!! I appreciate you thinking of me!!

It's How Hot??

Hello Everyone... For those wondering about the title of this post, the temp here today has been ridiculous... it was 72 degrees today.. and it is February! And because of our spring weather, we are expecting really bad storms tomorrow.. possible large hail and tornadoes... I have already started praying for all of our safety... I wish you all would, too.

Well, I hope everyone had a good weekend. I did. I had to work late Saturday... 'til 1:30. Then Sister (Martha) and I went to meet Danny and Mikki..her son and daughter-in-law (and Seth... her grandson) for lunch. It was really good. We went to eat Japanese... at Shogun's.. We had steak, fried rice and veggies.. it was really good.. Danny got scallops, lobster tail, and chicken... After lunch, we went to Kohl's to look around and Danny and Seth went home. We shopped for a bit and then went to their house for a while and came home. I got in and started me a hot bath and then went and got my clothes ready for church. I fed the kids and Edith and then got my bath. I got in some jammies and Hubby came home. I didn't eat any dinner and he brought in a plate of Chinese food and shared with me... He's so sweet!! He had moo goo gai pan and beef and broccoli and fried rice. It was very good..
Yesterday, I went to church and after church Hubby and I went to eat lunch and run around for a bit. Jessica and Jason and Munchkin came to meet us. We went to Steinmart, TJ Maxx and Pier 1 and then all headed home. I went to church and we had our regular services and then had a surprise birthday fellowship for our pastor and had sandwiches and chips and dip and birthday cake...

Today, I went and got Sue and went to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries. Diane had homemade chicken pot pie and peas for our lunch.... it was really good. Jessica came over with Munchkin so we got to play with her all afternoon.. we had the best time with her!! She is just precious!! I may be a little biased.. but I really don't think so! ;-) Tomorrow, we will probably go back to Diane's again. And she is keeping Munchkin again so I look forward to another day of fun!

I am one lucky woman tonight... My hubby brought me in dinner. We had Ruby Tuesday's. We had steaks and baked potatoes. It was really good. I cooked last night... we had cube steaks, shells and cheese, asparagus, and peas.. and yeast rolls. It was pretty good.. so Hubby brought me dinner tonight. He's the best Hubby in the world... he really is.....

As of January 25th, I have been blogging for a year! Wow, it seems like it was longer..... Diane started my blog as a birthday gift last year. My birthday is in February... I had said I thought I might want to start a blog and the next thing I knew, I had my own "place." Diane didn't know that when she started my blog that she would have to keep helping with interior design!

Writing on my blog has been many things to me. It's a place to write how I feel, what kind of day I had... even if it wasn't a good one... fun things I do with my family, prayer requests for friends and family... heartaches... just anything I want to write about... It's been a place for me to remember my Mom and Dad... even a few furry friends...

It's been a place to meet new friends... thank you all for stopping by to visit. I appreciate every one of you.... I am especially proud that I get to blog with 2 of my real sisters... and they share pictures on here that I get to enjoy... I don't know how to do a lot of the mechanics on here that others may do.. Diane is my mechanic! ;-) ... thanks, Diane! But I enjoy my space.....

Walking in a Winter Wonderland....

Hello Everyone... I didn't make it to work yesterday. I just still wasn't up to it. I did get up this am and went to work and it was SO cold! There was some water on my windshield .. or so I thought, it was frozen water. By about 10:00, it started sleeting. Then it started snowing like crazy then sleeting and snowing and in no time the streets were covered and the cars were icy. Some of our workers live out of town so they left early. I wasn't feeling very well so I left at 1 pm or maybe a little earlier. I was so glad to come home early. I still don't feel well and this bronchitis is rough. I'm used to my asthma but this is different. So, I was tired and my lungs were hurting by lunch... I have been laying in bed for 6 days and not moving around very much so today was tiring. But I am so glad to be in my warm house and out of the cold... and able to rest a little bit more. I want to thank all of you who left me sweet comments and said prayers for me. I still covet your prayers until I am well... Thank you for thinking of me... Hugs to you all...Cecil

Hello Everyone... I just wanted to come on long enough to say hi.. It has been raining all morning and the wind is blowing really hard.... I am in bed for the 5th day. I started getting sick Thursday evening at work.. coughing.. and had to leave work sick on Friday at 10:30. I called for an appointment with my doctor and they were "overwhelmed." And I felt so bad I didn't want to go to our nearest other town to go to the doctor... but they were all full anyway and so was the emergency room at the 2 nearest hospitals. I had already made an appointment with my doctor for my physical yesterday so I made it through until then. I have bronchitis... she did x-rays because she thought I had pneumonia... I went to our drug store and got my medicines and came home and got back in bed and I'm still in bed... I don't know if I will even be able to work tomorrow.. There are so many people sick. I knew I didn't have the flu... it's going around but so is the vomiting/diarrhea virus and other viruses.... Hope I don't have any of those to worry about!

I Once Was Lost, But Now Am Found....

Hello everyone. Once again, I disappeared from Blogland. I apologize ... I worked the rest of the week last week and then stayed busy over the weekend. On Friday night, I got home and was tired... we ate dinner and Hubby and I played computer games til time for bed and then on Saturday night, Jessica, Jason and Munchkin came to visit. And then, as Sister said, I took a hot bath and got into some jammies and read my Sunday school lesson. Sister... you knew it was Saturday! he he he.... ;-) ... And then I went to bed.

On Sunday, I went to church and then we had to go to the hospital. One of our church members is also a very dear friend... like a Dad, really... he had a horrible headache and had to go to the emergency room. A cat scan was clear and he had an MRI Tuesday night but hasn't got the results back yet.... He did go home on Sunday evening but I got a call from Diane a bit earlier tonight and he has had to go back to the emergency room. So, I will call shortly and see if I can find out anything.. He has Lupus and it could be migraines related to that... I hope and pray that it is something that can be dealt with with medication.... I ask that you all pray for him and I thank you for your prayers....

On Monday, my Hubby had taken off work and we went to eat and to the mall. We had company..... Sue, Diane and Lamar.... and Jessica and Munchkin went with us, too. We ate at Ryan's and went to run around a bit at the mall.... we had a good day and then we (me, Diane and Sue) had a meeting at church... we had our ladies meeting. We had dinner.... hot dogs, chili, chips and goodies.... brownie bites, carrot cake bites, and pecan pie bites... it was good. We had time to draw for our new secret sisters and then do a few business items and then one of the ladies husbands called and told us it was sleeting, so we all got ready to leave... Martha lives about 25 minutes away from here so she had to take Diane home and get home. We didn't have any accumulation so it was ok the next morning.

On Tuesday, my Hubby wanted to go out again so we got ready and called Sue and Diane. Sue went with us but Diane was resting and decided to stay home. We called Jessica and she wanted to go with us. (Actually, Jessica called us and she could barely talk but she didn't really feel bad so she and Munchkin went with us.) I was hungry and we were trying to decide where to go.. we finally decided on Shogun's ... it was SO good.. Emmy thought the fire was very interesting! lol.. I think we all got the same thing... steak and chicken... and, of course, we got the rice and veggies. I got fried oysters and shared them with Sue. After lunch, we went to a few consignment shops. We got Munch a few outfits and just looked around.. then we went to Jessica and Jason's and stayed for a while and then came home. I had to get my stuff ready for work and by the time I got my clothes ready and took my bath, I was tired. And I didn't do much after that.... And, as usual, I had to work and then had church last night.

So now we are here. Thursday. Work was very busy and I am tired but wanted to come on say hello to everyone and see if you are all doing ok. We had a rough week last week. One of my bosses cats ... died at work... our surgery tech and I tried to save her but she died within just a few minutes... she was 15 years and 8 months old and we were so upset.. but we took an x-ray and she had a lot of fluid around her heart and had been having thyroid problems for a long time... so last week, was also very sad for me.... We had a hard time last week... So, I didn't come on much last week... just had too much going on...

I will be working tomorrow... if I can... one of the girls I work with came to work sick yesterday and I think she has shared with a few of us.... one of the other girls is getting sick and I have been coughing all afternoon... I hope I don't get sick again.... sigh... Diane is having problems again, too. Her cold/ sinus trouble had not really gone away and she is still sick. Good grief... I will be glad when all this sickness is gone. You would think our weather would kill it... it is 19 degrees right now!! But hopefully, we'll all be well soon...

I will work on Saturday then I have a lunch date with a friend and we're going to work on a Valentine's project for church, so I'll be busy this weekend. I'll try to catch up with everyone though!

Hello all... I thought I'd stop in and blog a bit. I have to work the rest of the week so I may not have as much time to stop by... I will do my best... ;-)

Today was a good day. Our sister Martha has been wanting to go to the bookstores because she got giftcards to all 3 of the bookstores in our area... about 15 minutes to the next town... so, we had made plans to go today. She also got giftcards to Chili's so she got lunch for us. Very good. I got a mushroom swiss burger and fries and it was really good... Next, we went to Hastings so she could shop for books and then we went to Barnes & Noble... I got a new calendar for my fridge... with cats on it, of course.... I didn't get coffee today because if I don't drink it early in the day, it keeps me up at night.... we headed back home after that and went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things and then came home... it was a good day...

I want to ask you all to pray for Karen @ Karen's korner.... she and her family are having some problems and I know you will all pray for her and her family... I appreciate it so much and she will, too. Also, please pray for Jessica and for Munchkin.... Jessica is having sinus problems and they have both been exposed to a virus today.... stomach virus... and Jess said Munch's nose is running again.... bless them... please pray for all of them.... Jason, too. If one of them gets it, they all probably will..... Pray that they will get well.... Thank you all....

Well, I guess I'll go for now... I need to check on some friends and get ready for work tomorrow... and soon..... bed.... .... Have a good week..... They say we may get some snow/sleet/rain mixture tomorrow night... who knows? I guess we'll see..... I don't like ice...

Hi Everyone... I hope you are all doing well. I had to work Saturday, of course, and I had a lot to do Saturday... I cooked dinner for me and Hubby... chicken and rice... yum! And I had to get everything ready for church Sunday... study.. bath, etc. and I played games on the computer with Hubby Saturday night so I stayed busy. Yesterday, I went to church and after church, Diane had lunch for us. She had beef and gravy (homemade) and rice, speckled butter beans, and green beans with potatoes and bacon..... it was delicious. The roast she got was the best I've had in a very long time. Sometimes when you get meat, it just isn't as good as you want it to be.. but this was so good. Thanks, Diane!

Today, I called Sue and then Diane and we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch. I got chicken salad... it was so good... they had fresh lettuce and tomatoes and then had the chicken salad on top of it.... (their own homemade) and croutons ... it was really very good. Diane had pork chops, hashbrown casserole, and a salad. Sue had breakfast.. eggs, bacon, gravy and biscuits. After lunch, we went back to Diane's and watched tv and just vegged out for the afternoon. Hubby worked late and I called him and he brought in some Italian for him and I had a sandwich from Arby's.. it was good.. we had apple turnovers for dessert. I've been looking up new recipes to try but since he was coming home late tonight, I didn't want to cook. Maybe later in the week... or the weekend.

Color Me Grey....

Unusual title, I know... but I was so glad to see "Grey's Anatomy" tonight!! It's my favorite show... I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms.. But anyways.. I got to see it tonight. Hubby was so kind as to let me pick dinner.. we ordered Chinese and he went and picked it up. He had shrimp fried rice and I had beef lo-mein and boneless short ribs..yum! I enjoyed dinner tonight.. I woke up yesterday morning at 5Am sick as a dog... I was extremely nauseous and my gut was hurting... I got up at 6am to get ready for work and was vomiting some.. I went in to work and stayed an hour and had to come home..my stomach was really hurting.. I think it was a phantom gall bladder issue.. I say phantom because I have no gall bladder.. I've had surgery but you can still have attacks and can have stones in the bile duct.. but anyways, I spent the day on the couch with a blankie and and came in and out of the loo a few times... I got up this am and was much better and went to work.. I still have a slight tummy ache but not like it was... I figure a little acid reflux is kicking in but anyways, now you know my medical history for the past few days, and I will move on....

I hate to cut this short but I have to get up early and I am going to be heading to bed soon. I guess I'll go for now... I have to go check on a few of my bloggy buddies... Hope you all have a wonderful Friday.....Hugs to you all.. Love, Cecil

Storms Outside and Storms of Life.....

Today was a bit scary ... We actually made it through with just a little rain and wind. But we had some tornado warnings and it was a little close for a bit but, thank the Lord, we came through with no problems.

Sue and I went to the grocery store and got lunchmeat and bread for Diane and Lamar's for lunch. I didn't want to go to Jonesboro with the weather being so turbulent... Jessica was there with Munchkin.. she was going in to work late. She took Munch to the doctor. He said she just has a viral infection and told Jess she is doing everything she can do to take care of her. She has been feeling better. She played today and was in a wonderful mood. So sweet!! I do ask you to continue praying for her and for Jessica... She has had a real bad cold and is still coughing..

I also have another prayer request..This is what I call storms of life... this is one you all know.. Diane. If you read her blog, you already know that she is having tests done. They will be checking for congestive heart failure... Please pray for her that she doesn't have it and that they can figure out what's going on and how to treat her.. medicines, etc. Thank you for praying for her...I know you all will... I pray it is something they can treat with medicine and nothing life-threatning..

It's Getting Hot in Here...

I can't believe how warm it is today.... in the first days of January... and then I have a header that is full of snow.... lol I am like Diane.. the header doesn't fit the weather here.. It is 64 degrees... it is really very creepy... and dangerous... we are supposed to have bad storms by morning... I have already been saying prayers for our safety... I don't like storms... I don't mind rain and wind ... but I have a healthy respect for the weather.. especially in the Spring time....

I have, once again, been MIA on here for a week... I do apologize.. I have been working and doing other things, obviously... ;-) .. I will try to do better.

Saturday evening, Jessica called me and said she and Munchkin would be at Diane and Lamar's if I'd like to come and visit when I got off work. I went to pick up lunch and then went to their house. I spent the afternoon playing with Munch and holding her while she slept... I tell you, I could just eat her with a spoon!!! lol She is the most precious baby... and if she smiles, you lose your heart!! That said.. I guess you know that I had a wonderful afternoon.. And to top it all off, Diane invited me to stay and eat with them that evening and it just so happened that she was fixing my favorite meal of hers.... beef roast with potatoes and gravy... it was delicious! THANKS AGAIN, DIANE! And she gave me the leftovers for my Hubby, too.. so we all had a great meal....

Sunday, my Hubby was off so after church we went to Jessica and Jason's and she had fixed lunch for us.. It was really good.. we had fettichini alfredo with chicken, ( I spelled that wrong..sorry) , corn, broccoli, shells and cheese, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. It was really good ... Jessica is a good cook. And of course, Jason put Munchkin in her high-chair and she played while we ate. We sat around for a bit and then went to a local flea-market before we headed back home. I got 2 cookbooks... I love new and old cookbooks... it is the only thing I really collect....

Today, I got ready and went and got Sue and we took Lamar to the mall and dropped him off and we went and got some lunch at a bbq place in town... we had ribs, potato salad, baked beans, fries, and Texas toast... it was really good. It's a place called Dexter's. Then we came back here and went to Wally World. I wanted to make spaghetti for me and Hubby tonight but I just didn't feel well today so I got some soup for us... baked potato, for me and Italian wedding soup for him and some cheese bites.... so that's what we had tonight. Maybe the spaghetti will happen tomorrow night.

So, how is the new year going for you all? Well, I hope. I am looking forward to our next women's meeting at our church. We, of course, like good Southern Baptist women, have food at our meeting and discuss our business... but this meeting, we will find out who our secret sister will be for the year. We usually just try to get gifts on birthdays and anniversaries and just send notes or whatever you want to do on holidays.... It is a lot of fun. The next holiday is Valentines day and I will have to get Hubby something nice... and sweet!

Diane had a doctors appointment today so we didn't go to her house. I hope it's not stormy tomorrow so that maybe Sue and I can go visit her and Lamar.

I wanted to come on and wish everyone Happy New Year... early... because as I told my friend, Karen, I can't stay up late. I will probably be asleep at midnight. I have never been able to stay up all night or even very late.. I get sick if I miss a lot of sleep.. and I take sinus medicine and it makes me sleepy, too. So, I'll say Happy New Year now...

I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year.. I wish all of you peace, health, and lots of happy times and memories for the next year....

My menu tomorrow? Don't really know... If Diane cooks black-eyed peas, maybe I can beg some from her... I am off work so maybe we will go and eat somewhere? Who knows??

My New Years Resolution? I don't really make them anymore because as several others have said.. I usually break them.... :0)
What I'd like my resolution to be? I think to be as good a person as I can be.. enjoy my family and make a lot of memories... and mainly, SPOIL MUNCHKIN TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY WITH HUBBYS HELP!! lol

It's Saturday....

Hello All... I am so glad it's Saturday! I had to work but at least I got off work at 1pm... I am tired... I went to get some lunch and then came home and did a few chores and am just now sitting down for a bit. I wanted to come on before now but have been working. And the past 2 nights, I went out with a friend. Hubby is out of town... he's been gone since Thursday night and my friend called me and asked me to go out Thursday night.. we went to eat dinner and just talk on Thursday night and exchanged Christmas gifts and then last night, we went shopping. I had a good time and got a new sweater and new shirt and then we went by Wendy's and got a burger before we came home. I am about worn out today.. I could lay down right now and sleep but if I did, I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. And I want to take a hot bubble bath and use some of my new lotion I got for Christmas and put on some of my new pj's my Hubby got me for Christmas! I have already fed the cats and now all I have to do is feed me and Edith and I will be done. Oh, and I also have to study for my Sunday school lesson and I plan on doing that and going to bed early... I got some hot chocolate today...with the little marshmallows and I still have hot spiced cider from Diane...yum! So, that may be on my dessert menu tonight.. dinner will be pizza......

I called yesterday and talked to Jason and Munchkin is doing better... thank you all for praying for her!!! We had the best time Christmas day... the food was delicious and being with family was wonderful.. and we went to the movies that afternoon and saw "The Waterhorse." It was really good... then I was off on Wednesday and Diane, Sue and I went and ate Chinese and then went to the mall for a bit.. I had to exchange a few things and boy was the mall crazy!! But I enjoyed it... Jessica came by the mall for a bit after she got off work... We got to hold Munch for a bit but she wasn't feeling well that day... Then, of course, I had to go back to work..

I will have to check with my blog decorator and see what I want to change my wallpaper to for the new year... I have to pick up some awards from my friend, Karen, too... Thanks again, Karen!! So, it will look like Christmas a little longer until I can get it all done..... ;-)

Hi everyone! It has been the best day... Brian and I went to Diane and Lamar's and met Jessica and Jason's little brother... and then we all went to Dixie Cafe for lunch and then we went to the mall and stayed until 5:30... it closed at 6 pm... this has been the best day.... it has just been wonderful and it seemed like Christmas... it was a little warmer than I would have liked but I can live with it.... our mall wasn't crowded and we all just ran around and had the best time! Munchkin was in a good mood.. and she was passed around to each one on and off.... we got her a new outfit and I've wrapped it in tissue so she can tear into it in the am.... at our party Saturday night here, we had her some toys and clothes and we helped her open those... she likes to eat the wrapping paper... ;-) We will get up in the am and open our presents here and then we will get ready to go to Jessica and Jasons for Munchkin to open gifts and we will be having dinner there.... and we are planning on going to the movies afterwards... we did last year and I enjoyed it.... Now to catch up a bit..... I was tagged to do a Christmas hoopla.. the 12 days of Christmas... 12 random things about me and Christmas.... hmm..... here we go....

1) Christmas is and has always been my favorite holiday..... not because of all the gifts but because of my family......

2) This is my 17th Christmas with my husband.....

3) The first Christmas my husband and I were married, it snowed....

4) One year, Diane and I got an Easy-Bake oven... and we made lots of goodies for our Mom and Dad to sample!

5) This is our 3rd Christmas without Dad and our second without Mom....and we miss them..

6) I love everything to do with Christmas... the family, the food, the gifts, the decorations, our tree... seeing the beautiful trees at the mall..... mine is just as gorgeous!

7) Our Christmas party is my gift to myself..... I love having my family and friends in my home and just being with everyone.

8) My husband and I open a few gifts every Christmas eve but save most for Christmas morning... I never opened gifts on Christmas eve until I got married...

9) Every year, I love to go to Pier 1 and get candles for our house for Christmas... I love the way they make your house smell.... cinnamon and apples...mmmm.... and Diane's hot spiced cider warming on my stove! I got the leftovers after the party Saturday night!! Thanks, Diane!

10) I try to watch "Christmas Vacation" every year.... but I haven't seen it this year!! Darn!! I did get to see "Santa Clause ... the Movie" last night.... I love all of those movies!

11) I love Christmas songs... most of our family sings..... and yesterday at church, one of our piano players asked Diane to sing "O Holy Night"... Diane warned them that she was still having sinus problems.... I started praying for her before she got up on stage... and she made it through and did a wonderful job!! And got a standing ovation!! Go Diane!!

12) I believe that Christ is what Christmas is all about.... and they are taking God out of everything... but no matter what they do, CHRISTmas belongs to HIM!!! Thank you, God for your most precious gift, your son.... Happy Birthday, Jesus!!!

Christmas Time is Here......

Hello Everyone! Can you believe that a week from today is Christmas day? Time has flown by... I am almost done with my shopping... just have to pick up a few more things for Hubby and a few others and I am done... Better be, huh?

I am home today. Sue is out with her husband and Diane is not feeling well. Yesterday, we (Diane, Lamar and Sue and I) all went to eat lunch at one of our favorite restaurants ... and Diane couldn't eat... she said her stomach was just not happy and that she really wasn't hungry... and she still doesn't feel good today so I stayed home today. I went out and got some Mickey D's for lunch and came back home. I have a few things to do but I figured it could wait a bit because I wanted to read some blogs and do some catch-up.... I ate lunch and then set out to read.. And to make it better, I went to the kitchen and got a cup of hot spiced cider that Diane made for our class party on Friday night... and I got the leftovers! Thanks, Diane! And here I am! I like everything about Christmas and I have enjoyed shopping this year and helping with gift baskets at our church and other things.. and we are supposed to go caroling on Thursday night... if I can go.. I have my party on Saturday night and I have to get my house ready. So, I will be busy the rest of the week. I still have to finish my menu and make my shopping list... but to be honest, I pretty much have it in my mind. It will be the last party this year. I enjoy it so much... my family and friends all around.

What I've been up to... On Friday night, we had our class party for church... lots of food and fun.. then on Saturday night, I had my work party. We had the best food.. our boss had it catered.. we had steak, baked potatoes, green beans, corn on the cob, rice and Texas toast. For dessert, our boss got cheesecakes.... turtle, pumpkin and New York style... it was all wonderful...I got a Barnes & Noble gift card and some candles for my gift... I love to go to the bookstore... and I can get Starbucks there, too! Then Sunday night, we had our program/party at church and also had food/goodies there.... and then last night, we had our women's party for church.. the food was wonderful there, too! So, I had 4 parties the last 4 nights.. Whew! I had a good time.. but I'm glad it's time to settle for a bit!

I like going on some of the other blogs and reading about what everyone does for Christmas or seeing pics of their decorations... nice.... one thing is for sure, whatever we all do this holiday, we need to remember what Christmas is all about... the birth of our Saviour, Jesus! Thank you, Lord! for all the blessings you gave me and my family this past year! And please lead us into the New Year! Amen...

Here We Go Again....

Well... once again, the weather is up and down. Yesterday it was cloudy then the sun would peek through every now and then... it got up to the 70's. Today, it is rainy and cold... 44 degrees as I type this now... Weird... And now they are saying that we could have some snow this weekend.. I don't mind snow but I am terrified of ice... I will be praying.. no ice!

Hope you are all well. I am still having problems with my cold. I am coughing some and just tired. But I got some new meds yesterday and it is helping! Hopefully, I will be over this soon. And Diane is the same way... just kinda cruddy... But we will make it! I have faith! ;-)

So what did everyone do over the weekend? On Sunday, Hubby and I went to Jessica and Jason's and we went to lunch at Dixie Cafe. I had a special mission on Sunday and didn't tell anyone about it... I had told Jessica a while back that I wanted to take Munchkin and have her picture made with Santa... because the Santa at our mall was the REAL Santa.. he looks amazing... so after lunch, we headed to the mall... and waited in line for about 30 minutes altogether.. and it was our turn.. Jessica turned her around so that she didn't see him.. and we all started trying to get her to smile.. Jessica got her to smile and the picture is perfect! I'll get Diane to scan it and we'll post it on here for all to see... it is precious!! We were so proud of her! We went shopping at TJ Maxx and then headed to their house for a bit. We bought frames and Brian framed one of the pictures for Diane and Lamar and I put it in a gift bag for them and took it to church. I had her open it and then we showed it off.... I couldn't have asked for a better 1st Santa picture!

Monday, Sue and I went and got some of Kentucky's famous fried chicken and went to Diane and Lamar's. They watched tv and I worked on Christmas cards. Then yesteday, Diane made homemade noodles with beef... it was one of my Mom's best dishes... my favorite thing she made... it was really good! Thanks, Diane!! Then yesterday afternoon, Diane made homemade fudge ... chocolate .... and then she also made some peanut butter fudge... it was good.. we got samples!! Oh on Monday, she made homemade toffee with pecans and she sent some home with me and she had poured some milk chocolate over it.... YUM! It has been a flavorful week... he he he....

I am on vacation this week and I am so glad. I am just about wiped out with all this sickness.. I have been sick for a month... Emmy is still coughing some and has a runny nose and she's had it for at least 3 months if not longer.. it's a virus.. and it is cruddy!! But anyway, I am glad to be off.. I cleaned house this am.. I still have plenty to do but will take it a step at a time.. I try to be sure that my house is perfect (as it can be! ha!) when I have my party... sigh.. I try anyway! And it is coming up soon....

I came home last night and cooked dinner for me and hubs.. I fried porkchops and we had mashed potatoes and gravy and biscuits. It was pretty good. He is working late tonight so I won't cook tonight... I'll make him a sandwich if he's hungry when he gets home.. sometimes he's not even hungry... We'll see... I ate a sandwich for lunch so I won't be hungry for a bit..

Guess What It's Like Outside???

Glad you asked! All day long, it has been cool, cloudy, drizzly and foggy..... nasty outside. More like Christmas! Of course, I know that that will change and soon.... :)

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I had to work this am and afterward, went to get some lunch with my Sis and niece... then I went and got Sue and went to have pictures made.. my boss is very into photography... and she took the pictures.. they turned out good.. And we had a good time... the ride home was ok .... the weather was cruddy but I didn't have any trouble driving home.. the fog was just scattered enough that I had no trouble seeing the road...

I came home and took care of the starving kids I live with and then made myself a hot bath to climb into.. it was so nice. I was a little chilled and I felt better after I got out... I was going to work on some Christmas cards but I think I'll wait and do them this week... I have to go and study for my Sunday school lesson and then get ready for bed.... I didn't sleep well last night and I want to hit the hay early! I have a lunch date with hubby tomorrow and we have plans after that... hope you all have a good Sunday... See you soon.... Attention: The Christmas Weather Has Been Cancelled!

Hey Everyone.. Thought I'd stop by and say "hi" and let you all know that the weather is changing as we speak.... It is warming up and will continue to warm up for the next few days.. and will be in the 50's and 60's.. and to add to the fun, it is supposed to rain for the next 3 days... I am so disappointed and depressed... it's supposed to be cold and I'm supposed to be wearing sweaters and drinking hot tea or cocoa... sigh..... It's all just so sad.... :(

I worked today and we were pretty steady this afternoon. Got off on time though. I just ran by Subway and got me and Hubby a sandwich. He is working late so he will eat his tonight when he gets in.... I really should be doing housework... I wonder how many times I have said that on here! ;-) ... I can't seem to want to do housework when I've been at work for 9 1/2 hours. But I will get off here soon and do a few things. I need to work on my Christmas cards again, too. I may do that next week. I have 2 parties next weekend so I will have to do cards for my work. I will get them done though. Friday night is my class party for church and Saturday night is my work party.

It Feels Like Christmas Out.....

Hi Everyone.... If you read my title, you probably realized that it's very cold here. It turned cold yesterday afternoon and the wind was unreal. It would just go right through you... and it's the same today. It is 36 degrees and I don't know what the windchill is now. I can tell you that it is COLD!

I have been absent for a few days... sorry. Hubby came home Saturday night and I didn't come on the computer at all. I rested Saturday afternoon on the couch with my kids and watched tv. Jessica and Jason and Munchkin came over for a bit Saturday night and after they left, I went to bed. On Sunday, I went to church and then Hubby and I went to lunch and went shopping for a while. We went to Books-a-Million and got a few Christmas books and an advent calendar and some Starbucks... hot caramel macchiatos.. yum!!! We had the best time.. he was gone 8 days so I needed a date! On Monday, Diane needed to go to Wal-mart so Sue and I went to pick her and Lamar up and went to lunch at McDonald's and then went shopping and back to their house for a while. I came home and cooked for me and Hubby. We had stewed potatoes, fried chicken and yeast rolls. It was so good! And I worked on Christmas cards while he watched tv and read for a while. I got all my cards done for our church and now I need to do them for our local nursing home. And work and family. Several from our church do cards for the nursing home. I like to sit down with cocoa or hot tea and get my cards ready. It is something I like to do every year.

Tuesday night, Brian (hubby) and I went to Jessica and Jason's to help put up their Christmas tree and eat dinner with them. Brian went to Sam's and got dinner for all of us. We had rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and stuffing. Jessica and I just had to heat up the sides... the chicken was already hot. It was really good. I played with Munchkin back and forth with Brian. She is such a princess! I love her so much!

We were really busy at work yesterday and had church last night and then, a meeting after church so I didn't really have time to come on last night. I know everyone is busy this time of year. And that's one reason I like shopping on Monday and Tuesday! The mall is so busy on the weekends. Sue, Diane and I went to the mall Tuesday and I got my hair cut and we just went around to a few stores and Diane went to Barnes and Noble and got some coffee and sat down to read. I have a few more things to get and hopefully, my shopping will be done.

Hi Everyone.. I am so glad it's Friday! I have to work half a day tomorrow but then I can do whatever... And I am so glad my hubby is coming home. He has been gone for a week today. He will be in tomorrow evening. Me and the babies are ready for him to come home.

I hope everyone is well and has had a good week. I came home a did a bit of cleaning but really don't have the energy to do everything I should. But I did get to do a bit more decorating. I put out my new Christmas potpourri (apples and cinnamon) from Pier 1.. and candles (the same scent) .. It all smells wonderful! Makes the house smell like Christmas to me... mmmmm.....And I have other candles but won't set them out "til the night of my party... I love candles and keep them all year long... different scents... they really make my house smell good!

Not really... we have lots of food at the party... finger foods... But almost every year, Diane makes homemade hot spiced cider for me.... it is absolutely delicious! One year, I was sick right after Christmas and Diane had left the cider with me... it made my throat feel so much better.. I'd put a cup of it in the microwave and heat it up.... so good!!

Well, I didn't make the trip ... but one year we had a terrible ice storm.. and Diane and Lamar were not going to be able to be at our house ( I wasn't married yet and was still home with Mom and Dad). And Dad and our brother-in-law Jerry decided to go and get them.... before it was overwith, the car slid off the driveway... our other brother-in-law came over in his bronco and if memory serves me right, they went and got then in it... Diane may have to refresh me on that one... it's been a while!

9) Do you have a special outfit for the day?

Usually, my main request for Christmas is clothes.. so I usually wear something hubby got me.

10) Have you or any other family member ever sat on Santa's lap?

Jessica.... when she was younger.... And the last time I sat on Santa's lap, I was about 16.. I went shopping with my Mom and there he was..... no one else was around and he called me over and told me to sit on his lap... I was like "you've got to be kidding!" but he wasn't... I sat on his lap and told him what I wanted for Christmas and walked away with a bag of goodies! And he was ok... no funny stuff... a nice guy...

11) What is or what will be on your tree this year?

We have 2 trees.. the one in our living room is our big tree... it has lots of pretty ornaments in reds, golds and big poinsettia swags and ribbon.... and then 2 frog ornaments... in honor of Edith!! Seriously! ... hubby picked them out for me and they are gorgeous!

The second tree is small and it is on our buffet in the kitchen. It is covered in white lights and lots of different pretty little birds... my hubby put it up last year... and it is in memory of my Mom.... I almost cried when he put it up. It is so pretty and such a wonderful way to honor her.. She loved birds...

12) Do you or have you decorated your yard?

No. If we did, someone would probably run off with the decorations!! lol (Nope.. not kidding!)

Hi Everyone... I thought I'd come on for a few minutes and just say "hi." I may not have time to come on tomorrow night so I thought I'd stop in for a bit. Hubby will be coming home Saturday.. and I want to finish some Christmas decorating and do a bit of cleaning.

It has been so cold today. The sun was shining but it was still cold. I came home and turned up the heat and sat down for a while. But IT'S BEGINNING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!! Finally!! ;-)

Back to Work I Go....

Hey All... I will be going back to work tomorrow so I will check in when I can. I hope you all have a good week. I had to run some errands today... pick up a few things. Diane had her eye appointment this am. I called her and then she and Lamar met us ( me and Sue) at Crac*ker Barrel for lunch. I picked up a few things there and had to come back home for a bit. The guys came to work on my fridge and finally...in just a few minutes, it was fixed! I am so glad!

I have a prayer request, please. Munchkin ( aka Princess Emmy ) is sick. She really hasn't been well since she had shots 2 times ago. Jessica called this afternoon. She took her to the doctor and they said she has a virus and will just have to fight it off... I am going to take her to the GREAT PHYSICIAN... He can fight it off for her! Please help me pray for her... she is so little and I would rather be sick than see her sick... you can see her pic on my blog if you're new to my blog... Thank you so much... from all of us...

Baby, It Was Cold and Rainy Outside Today.....

Hey Everyone.... I wanted to come on for a few minutes and check in with everyone. I was feeling better today... still not well... I am still very congested and am coughing in a most un-ladylike way....but this am, I got up and got ready and called Diane and Lamar and our sister, Sue, and we went to eat lunch and I told them we were heading to the mall because I wanted to go Christmas shopping. And it was so nasty outside... cold and windy and rainy..... well, mainly drizzly.... but still nasty. But I wanted to go shopping .. and it was so nice. The stores were almost empty and it was so easy to get around and just so relaxing to be able to look without falling over people! I enjoyed it.... I got some nice gifts for my sweet man.. and I also got some goodies for Princess Emmy... aka.. Munchkin.... and some stocking stuffers.. I am not through yet but I have done pretty well today.... I was so glad to be able to get out and go today.. I will try to rest some tomorrow because I have to go back to work Wednesday.

Our mall is very nice... and I want to take Munchkin to get her picture made with Santa. And I noticed today that the Santa that they have there actually looks like he could be Santa... he is the most realistic one I think I've ever seen.... Hubby and I bought an outfit for Munchkin to wear when she gets her picture made but I got another one today for her... now we just have to set up a time and go.....

Baby..It's Cold Outside....

Hey Everyone... Hope you are all well... I am not well... as in sick... I won't stay on long... just don't feel like doing much. I will be taking a hot bath and going to bed early... besides being sick since last Tuesday, I am now either suffering from allergies or taking a cold... I am in style for the holiday... I have been sneezing all afternoon and I look like Rudolph.... :-( Yes, it hurts and it is nasty as most allergies and or colds go... nuff about that... I am tired because I woke up every 2 hours last night.... I even tried to prop up on the couch this evening with Amos to take a nap and started coughing so I gave up... I need some sleep!!! Arghhh.... Therefore, it is in my best interest ( as well as those I will be around tomorrow) that I get rest ... If I am able to go anywhere tomorrow. I hope so.. if not, I will be in bed.... sigh... Oh well..... Nuff about my whining...

It is so cold today! I might be able to wear a sweater to church tomorrow.... It has also started raining and is supposed to rain all day tomorrow... the high is 48 degrees... whoosh! I drank some hot tea earlier and it really warms me up and I turned up the heat.. and the hot bath will make me feel better, too. Diane is cooking for us tomorrow ... hope I can be there.... I also want to thank her for doing my Christmas set-up for me..... I really like it... thanks, Joe!!! It's starting to feel like Christmas to me now.....

I'd like to go shopping for hubby on Monday..but my fridge went out.. I left a message for my landlady and am waiting on her to call me back... I may have to stay here while they check the fridge out... this is the second time it went out... it went out a week ago... and if they mess up my Christmas tree, I ain't gonna be happy at all... so I may have to hang around here Monday and go shopping Tuesday.... this all depends on how I feel, of course... We shall see..
